Massive difference in our 20 min power but I’m close for the shorter ones - I’m clearly all show and no go!
I’m going to retest my shorter powers as I think my rear wheel was slipping, last summer my peak power was around 1100W iirc. My ftp w/kg is no good on the hills!!!

Gear - Elite Direto and Zwift Short FTP test.

First time attempting the ftp test. Think I could do better but I did a bit of riding yesterday and my legs were tired. My legs still seem to be building up for cycling and today was only my 4th session. My legs were aching during even the warmup!

What confused me was that my avg wattage during the 20 minute section was 191w so why is my ftp only 179?

Ah ok, that explains that then.

Definitely a lot of room for improvement. I know being a fat ******* s always going to hit my w/kg in Zwift, but i think i should definitely be able to get closer to a 200w FTP fairly soon.
You’ll get there in no time buddy, just keep going!

So far, I've only done one Zwift short FTP test, but I get regular updates of my estimated FTP from Zwift/StravaCrickles by climbing Watopia to the radio tower via either route, as this currently takes me well over 20mins.

But currently, Strava reckons my FTP is 283W, based on strong rides in early Feb up the mountain before I toned things back a lot. Zwift and Crickles still reckon ~266W. Given how my training was reduced so much until recently, I'm going to ignore Strava's high figure. I also put on a bit of weight, SAD carb cravings and not enough exercise!

FTP is 95% value of your max 20min power.

That's not strictly true. Firstly it's shouldn't be a 20 mins max effort but one with a 5 min clearing effort (max) then 5 min rest then 20 mins. And secondly for most people FTP is more than likely going to be somewhere in the region of 92 or 93%. Not trying to be pedantic but I think a lot of people forget this and it's probably not going do any favours when actullac training with those zones.

Couple of Power PBs for me in the last 2 weeks. 25 miles @ 268W and 10 miles at 291W, jumps of almost 20W in each! All in the TT position!
