Kitchen worktops - Krion & Caesarstone

The Pfeiderer/Duropal Bellato Grey 20mm looks pretty good - might get a sample or two of that and see how it looks.

Cloudy Cement would be perfect but I can't see anyone who uses that for a laminate worktop.

Wow that does look great, please keep us updated. Gonna order some samples tomorrow from 20mm range.

Just seen that and have instainst considered it as it looks good and will be around one tenth the cost of Dekton.

Money is tight seeing as we had more wowo to fix the floor than expected and 70m2 of tiling is just being completed, then have 20m2 more to do in the hall after kitchen goes in.

Which one(s) tickled your fancy?

Exactly my thinking - I've had few whopping bills land on me and fancy worktops are the least of my concern right now.

When are all your start plans @glitch and @-Ad-?

I've provisionally got someone booked in to start on the 16th July so starting to get close now :).

Feels like you 2 have been deliberating for months!

Kitchen is being delivered w/c 23rd but I am in trouble. My builder and plumber have gone AWOL and I'm running around trying to find replacements that aren't going to bankrupt me and can fit in my timeline.

So... yeah, that is fun.

My Formica samples have arrived and they are quite lovely - but should be for the price! c£240 for worktop but I'd need Breakfast Bar at c£470 as I'm wanting 650mm deep worktops.#

But anyway, on to the colours.

Fog is just matte/flat grey and could be quite nice in the right setting. Good texture and zero glare.

White is, well, like grey but white. Could work... but would have to be judged once my wall covering is on. Might be too clinical.

Elemental Concrete is bloody lovely but in theory, the exact same colour and texture as my walls are going to be. So might be too matchy-matchy.

Still waiting on the other samples...

Kitchen is now delayed until w/c 6th August. And I've clearly offended the local plumbers union as nobody wants to talk to me!

We went with a quartz frpm ITAStone it was half the price of silestone and I believe had a slightly higher % of quartz

I mention this as we also grappled whether to go with a corian type.. But couldn't find one in a showroom that didnt look battered.

We called prestige granite tuesday afternoon. They templated wed morning and wanted to fit Friday. We weren't ready on friday so install was saturday.... Really can't knock that kind of turnaround. But I suppose thats useless if your not in the area

Did everything go smoothly, and do you recommend Prestige? I'm seriously considering Prestige, and the Itastone range, for our new kitchen.

Can't recommend them highly enough mate.. The worktops were fitted quicker than our local place could come out and template... Prestige say a 3-4 day turnaround.

And we had a big island too.
Half the price of the granite house is southport

Hehe same slight delay for ours, but it arrived on the 10th and the first handy is mainly in. Hopefully island will go in this weekend.

I'll start a new build thread and worktop type I'll leave as a surprise for wheb it arrives.

All the best with sorting out the trades hassle glitch .
