parking outside someone else's house - what would jesus (or you) do

So thought I’d give an update...

Left a note on the windsceeen - ignored

Wife bumped into him parking outside ours with space elsewhere and he said he can see it from his flat on the road perpendicular to our if he parks outside ours and basically admitted he parks there so it doesn’t bring unwanted attention to his property!!!

She pointed out our garage has been broken into since he started parking there and that we have small baby that she stay at home with ect. but his response was ‘so does my partner’

Now I’m fuming at this but can’t actually do anything!

Facebook/Twitter post a pic of the van (try tagging some local youths too) commenting about the amazing thing you've seen inside it.

Ie "omg just realised my neighbour keeps his kawasaki h2 carbon track bike in his van"

"Lol think I've just seen somones mobile grow op park up"

"Jesus just how many tool cabinets can a guy fit in one van!?"

Wait for van to be robbed :p

Tyres go flat quite frequently in this hot weather ;)

These sort of suggestions are risky now he's made it known its him that has an issue.

He might find nails and screws keep 'falling off the van' in front of his driveway in return.

Do you live near acemodder :D
i thought this.... but being honest about the situation

There is nothing you can legally do, what I woudl suggest is try to have a nice friendly chat with the driver, make a point if being around when he parks up. Don't be all agressive because actually by Law he is entitled to park there as long as the kerb is not lowered and their are no yellow/red line markings. Just explain calmly how you feel and if he is a decent human you will come to an agreement. If not and he is scum, you will end up having a dodgy car insurance collision claim against you and then he will cancel when the overwhelming evidences proves the ***** is lying through his back teeth haha

Sensible solution apply to the council to have your kerb dropped?

Ok it will cost a bit but then you can just have the police tow his van away

I don't have this problem, because I have a private driveway with the capacity to hold five cars.

Parking is just one nightmare I don't miss about the UK.
This is not a UK thing, this is a Victorian era terraced house thing. The UK does also have plenty of housing stock with driveways of all sizes and shapes too :p

Alternatively the OP could hire a skip for a few weeks.

Edit: or borrow a friend/relative's car for a while if they're away or have a second car sitting idle.
