Former Russian double agent seriously ill in Salisbury.

Ah ok, I just popped into this page of the thread which is supposed to be about the ex spy and his daughter getting poisoned...

OMG I can't believe the news, this morning Russia was blamed for killing a journalist bla bla bla, then suddenly, oh, it was just a stunt, like seriously WTF. Unless the evidence is right in my face I will not believe a thing anymore.

Unfortunately today you have to pick your news resources from more than one country and read more than one side of the story.

And especially in this case, taking Ukrainian news at face value is stupid.
The Nazis in power (literally not figuratively), have renamed streets, demolished public buildings and put down statues and everything that could be associated Russia, standing there since the 1920s.
Especially first targeted all those sites that were commemorating the WWII victory against the German Nazis.

That in addition to abolishing Russian as second language of the country, demanding that all those who are citizens of the country and are of Russian ethnicity to either leave or become Ukrainians.
Which was the trigger for the whole east of the country to take up arms and Crimea to declare independence.

I'd probably also murder someone for a 205 Rallye tbh.

(In all seriousness, I hope it's not what we think it is)

Lets see.
Brexit goes pear shape, after the last meeting. again Check.
Threats by Rees-Mogg to split the Tory party again. Check.
Openly split Cabinet, before Chequers meeting again. Check
Location exactly the same distance from Porton Down (different direction) again. Check.

Yep, sounds right. The Russians did it.

As for the Skirpals case according to German TV (RBB) the German government in early June informed a parliamentary oversight committee during a closed hearing that it still had not received any evidence that Russia was behind the incident that took place in early March....

You say Germany hadn’t received evidence by that point... yet they, and many others, expelled diplomats based on the evidence provided in March...

The federal government has so far received no evidence from London on the case of Skripal. The German intelligence services have no knowledge that Russia could be responsible for the poison attack.

...

Moreover, the British Government has so far presented nothing. Neither could the British government prove that the poison used came from Russia, nor that the Kremlin was responsible for the attack, it was said. According to rbb information, the German intelligence services have not gained any knowledge from their own sources, which allowed such a conclusion.

On the other hand, the British have so far presented no evidence for their thesis, as the federal government told the secret-sitting parliamentary control committee of the Bundestag. The German intelligence services have no new knowledge. "The decision to participate in the expulsion of Russian diplomats thus seems more than questionable," concludes the noteworthy contribution of "Tagesschau".

The "evidence" provided in March was no more than a pamphlet with "Russian behavioral patterns" including blaming them for MH17 and cyber-attacks, as well as a promise to show evidence at a later stage (this hasn't happened yet). So whatever belief there was that additional secret evidence had been shared with allies, seems to not have been accurate.

There may be a realistic chance for those who facetiously cry "Baptists" in potential terrorist attack threads on here to step up to the mark, as apparently they recently partook of a hog roast at the local Baptist church ;) Dodgy pork or Russian porkies?
