Leg broken in 12 places and laid up in hozzy!

Haha, there's something about Celtic women, isn't there?

Don't dwell on the "ifs" if you can. We are who we are. You'll get there.

There is indeed, I'd never date another nurse again though. Qualified or training they're all nuts. Lol

Trying not to dwell on ifs but having so much time to think about everything its hard not to. Now I'm forced to change career I'm thinking about what I want to do once im back on my feet but I'm suffering the same problem ive had since leaving school. What the hell do I want to do?

To be honest fellas my treatment here has been very hit and miss, some painfully stupid mistakes have been made in every sense and some staff shouldn't be allowed near a hospital.

Not surprising really, incompetence is rife in the NHS. There's no free competition (to the benefit of the NHS or its employees). The system allows for stagnation and "promotions" are largely a function of time not skill or work ethic. My sister works as an ODP, and there are people who prep equipment in operation theaters than don't know 1m = 100cm.

As some of you know I work as a doorman and have done for roughly 18 years, well on fathers day my colleague and I were savagely attacked by a group of 6. While trying to save my colleague from being bottled I was pulled down and my leg kicked from the side. My Tibia shattered in 12 places obliterating my lower knee.

Get well soon.

You'll figure it out. Like you've already said, if you get a decent payout from this it'll set you up for some training/college-of-knowledge or whatever.

New beginnings ahead. Exciting times. :)

I hope I never sit within earshot of you on an 'plane. :D

That's a pretty rotten situation to be in, I know how frustrating it is to be stuck up in hospital.

Do they have wifi there? Possible to get a laptop and start taking some classes online? Maybe look into some basic programming/design courses on code academy, could be the start of something :)

That's a good idea. If they have wifi then do this. If they don't then get a mifi/portable-hotspot/phone-tethering or ask someone to download a load of courses. It could change your life entirely.

Online classes are not a good idea while he's doped up on medicine. Information comprehension and retention will not be good. Save them for when he's back at home and convalescing. Meanwhile just keep to gentle stuff and casual browsing.

Been following your posts in the past, must say you haven't had the best of luck mate, I hope karma is treating you to some decent looking crumpet in that hospital and also treat the scumbags to what they deserve.

Wish you a very speedy recovery pal.

Get some headphones for your phone, download Spotify, listen to Hysteria and Pyromania albums by Def Leppard.

Get your Mrs to sneak you in some bourbon.

Trying to get those x rays for myself.

You don't need to try, just request them from the Hospitals Health Records and they have 30 days to comply.
You may have to ring them up for a form and it is now free.
I get to see some interesting X-Rays every day but this sounds horrendous.

Well ahead of you on the music front, though ive been the YouTube music app which has been pretty good. As for the bourbon suggestion I don't drink at all and if i started now I probably wouldn't stop lol.

Ouch!

Hope you make a good recovery, if you look at all the things you could do as an alternative to bouncering hard enough an opportunity will present itself.

Not too far from Broughton could always get in at Airbus if you've got some qualifications

You could become a masked vigilante like Bruce Wayne or Oliver Queen. Seems to be quite good money in that. Ahhh, maybe they had the money before hand. You could start telling people they have failed the city though?

Hope you get better soon and find a good new career.

Thanks mate, id love to be a masked vigilante but sadly dont have the funds. Right now id settle for recommendations on the best in ear headphones for my phone, the ones i have are poop.

How does one begin to choose a new career path from a hospital bedwhen youve no idea what you want?
