What posses someone to commit this sort of act? I have a wee girl of a similar age and she brings me so much joy. I couldn't imagine a scenario where someone would want to kill her. There really are some very evil people out there. I mean, what sort of upbringing to you have to suffer to then go on and kill a child?

They are reporting it's somebody under the age of 18 who has been arrested.

That's the time she was reported missing (6:25 am) which is presumably the time when whoever was first awake checked on her and realised she wasn't there. She could have gone missing at any time through the night.

I've heard that a teenager has been arrested. AFAIK, the only people in the house at the time were her father (25) and grandparents.

I read 6.35am and assumed it was then she was last seen but that was the time when she was reported missing.

That's possible. I don't know details of who was in the house at the time for sure.

Other social media rumours I've heard are that her bedroom window was found wide open (although in this heat that wouldn't be unusual?) and also that she was known to sleepwalk.

The person who got arrested was 17, if he is the guy who did it, give him a life jacket and give him a free helicopter ride over the North Sea.

Wild speculations on Twitter over this case, especially regarding the use of Facebook rather than calling the police.

Reading some of the articles online however they interview islanders, and people say everyone knows everyone and most people don't even lock their door.
Our mind would go to the worst, but living in this community murder or abduction might have been the last thing they expected. Seems like a lovely place.

I believe the suspect is 16 and known to the family, I hope they weren't trying to cover for him or something.

With a population of 7,000 I could well imagine it is one of those sorts of places where not much serious crime happens, people feel safe, big sense of community etc.

The 16 year old has been charged with murder. The body was found in an abandoned Hotel. You can only conclude the worst....horrendous.
