Idiots smash ambulance after England match

How many other sporting events are watched by half of the country?
Your generalised statement is just plain wrong and these are just idiotic morons. The fact that they were out watching the game is totally irrelevant.

Yet we don't see these scenes in other countries with huge football followings. Germany? Nope. Spain? Nope.
We don't see it with other sports in this country.
When I was at uni I was friends with a Norwegian guy and he just didn't get it. He pointed out that people are smashing their things. Where's the logic? Utter morons.

Similar scenes up here with people jumping on buses/cars and ripping up street furniture. Bunch of ****ing morons.

It’s true though isn’t it? Doesn’t happen after any other major sporting event. Football just brings out the plebs in the UK.

The Japanese clean the stadium after their game, the Brits smash stuff up, it’s embarrasing.

Well I for one am loving it, am I a chav too?

I totally agree that they are moronic and welcome them being found & prosecuted but you can't tar a whole support base as "chavs".

Honestly, on what planet does "We've got into the quarter final" become "Let's smash up this ambulance!". It's not even a bus, or a cop car, or some less relevant public service vehicle. It drives professionals in emergencies to save lives.

What say you GD? Is this a new low or is it to be expected when the football is on and the sun is out?

Have everyone involved shot while their families watch. It’s the only way they’ll learn.

The basic problem is that people know they won't be held responsible or meaningfully punished for such behaviour.

Making people responsible for the damage they cause, deducted from their income (wages or bend fits) at 40% of post tax income until the amount is paid back in full, regardless of claims of hardship or impact, would have a much greater deterrent value than the current small fine at £1 a week to cover thousands of pounds of damage.

That's part of the issue. People now aren't held accountable for their actions even from a young age. Even if they somehow end up in court the sentences are pathetically lenient. Drug dealers are a prime example. It takes years to build a case against them by which time they've earned and hidden so much money that a little bit of jail time isn't really a punishment. They then just go on dealing as soon as they get out because it's so lucrative.

It's frankly embarrassing. They should be humiliated on the front of the papers.

If you want to go riot and wreck/smash stuff up, then go home and break your own stuff.

These will be the idiots banned from travelling or attending matches.

Or the idiots that do this crap every Friday and Saturday night regardless.

99% of football fans will not be doing this.

Yep.

They should 100% be forced to pay for any damage they cause, they goes for anyone caught commiting a crime which involves destruction of property.

Just immature men who cannot handle their drinks,Should have seen them near me we have a very busy main road and they were all walking in the road chanting their crap holding flags causing problems nearly getting ran over, then they were all fighting and one guy got knocked unconscious,he was to blame as he was shouting his mouth off but an ambulance was called but by the time they got there he had gone so a waste of ambulances time on a drunk idiot.

Personally i think if an ambulance gets called out to you because your drunk or you end up in hospital because of it they should heavily fine you.

On other news last night a drunk British tourist in Zante assaulted a female doctor that was trying to help him and tried to steal an ambulance causing damages.
