Air Con Suggestions

Got mine mostly installed, got a Daiken rather than original planned Mitsubishi, not sure why but at what I am paying it's no big deal

Bad bit is electrician can't make it until Sunday to do his bit

Yeah that's right, and the quick connector ones only go up to around 4m, I need 5 or 6m to fit the outdoor unit on the end wall of my house. So I think I will spend ~£80 on a vacuum pump and gauges to purge the air on an easy fit kit.

You might need to purchase an adapter as most use R410A as these have 5/16 connections and not 1/4" connections.

What split AC units are people looking at buying?

I want one that has a quiet outdoor unit so as not to disturb the neighbour and wifi ready, and preferably easy fit.

Will a 9000btu split run off a 13a supply or will it need its own breaker?
9000 is a very small unit, I am sure that you have calculated it, but 9000 is barely enough for a single small room depending on sun loading etc.

But yeah, 9000 is only a few amps, well under the capability of a single socket, it'll be of the region of 800-900W only (<4A).

I have a Electriq quick connect 12000btu with the outside unit on an East facing wall and working flat out at the height of the Beast from the East it never pulled more than 1400w in heating mode

Ah a person with one, how did you find the installation and overall quality during and once installed out of interest? :)

I've a review on page three of this, should be easy to find ;)
Plastic on inside unit is flimsy, already broken a lug off the filter access door though still closes and operates as normal. Hardest part was drilling 100mm opening through cavity wall without an SDS plus mine is installed high up on the house as that's where I wanted extra heat. Ladders and pulley hoist job and I'm not exactly a spring chicken anymore :D

Love those R32 units.

Question.

I have a roof terrace and also a roof with solar panels. There are ideally 3 rooms i'd like to cool. Living room, master bed and another bedroom. Is there one huge unit I can have on the roof that feeds down into all these rooms? How far can the ducting go for a split system?

Thx

The core drilling is what fills me with dread, my house is made of a stone which seems to be harder than diamond :p

So our portable De'longhi AC has been a godsend these last few weeks. We are currently going through the design stages for two extensions, going to take this opportunity to integrate proper fixed AC into the design.

Can anyone recommend a good AC company we can get out for a quote for our loft conversion, we keep putting it off but the last few weeks have put it as a priority for us to sort!

Thanks

What sort of power/BTU would be needed for a 14mx5m room? It gets super hot at the moment as there are 2x roof lanterns, 2x sets of bifold doors and a regular window as well

Think I'm going to need to buy one of these for my bedroom. South facing room so gets very hot. I rent so unfortunately can't install a split unit, a portable one will have to do. What is good for a decent sized double room? Also any recommendations for a kit for covering up the gap in the window where the hose is going?

I bought a sheet of perspex and cut to the size of the opening part of the window, and secured with velcro strips. Then cut a circle hole and screwed the hose outlet end to it, works perfectly, completely sealed.
