Rice and Peas

Bloody hell, don’t tell the BBC that we made Indian food this evening and we’re not even from India. Clearly a slow news day. To be honest it sounds like people having a moan about crummy catering at an event rather than a guns blazing cultural misappropriation story.

Just thought it a bit of a pathetic news article myself and I really don't understand how people can get so wound up that something in a dish isn't quite as they expected. Whilst in China I recall a Spag Bol in the Marriott hotel I was staying at being served up with baked beans in it :D It was actually quite nice so I went back for seconds. I am however unsure if any Italians staying in the hotel were offended etc by this though.

I just can't believe what people are finding to be insulted by / offended by today. This culture really needs to stop. It is going to spoil the country.

What an odd thing to report on. Things like this lower my opinion of the BBC.

I’m not even sure of the extent it has actually caused offence. Very slow news day.

BBC tends to just recycle junk from popular social media places a lot of the time, just be it a few days late and irrelevant

It's bizarre how it's now deemed acceptable to quote a single comment from some random on Twitter, and treat it like expert analysis.

Yep, then we get the usual contingent of permenantly outraged 'righties' frothing about how this shows 'the lefties' are bringing about the downfall of society :D

No such thing as righties and lefties, it is all in your own perception. There is however rice and peas ;)

I think you're being over sensitive in response to the article. Sure its poor journalism from the BBC because the original tweet was one of mocking and mild annoyance rather than offense. It's nothing more than slow news day filler which we've always had once the weather hots up.

It's as if you've decided to be offended over a none event.

The BBC should be banned from referencing opinions from Twitter, it’s mostly idiots whose opinions bear no reflection on the general views of society

I'm assuming that's not a racist comment and you like Ting with your dinner.

I want to find a gin or a vodka called "Babylon" so I can drink glasses of refreshing Babylon & Ting.

No it's not a cultural appropriation story.

She's basically complaining the dish is made wrong..... I mean why this is news is beyond me.
