Wonder if the hardware fixes chomped a bit of performance off the top of the improvements the chip would have had.

Intel and AMD will just bypass China. Even if things are packaged in China, they'll get moved to Malaysia before shipping to the US. It would probably cause too much political turmoil if Chinese-based kit is routed through Taiwan.
Wait so Coffee Lake refresh is in fact Cascade Lake? It says Q4 2018.

Cascade Lake is the Xeon/Server line. The 9000 consumer chips are still Coffee Lake, just more cores.

Videocardz's source got hands on i5 9600K and i7 9700K CPUs tested on ASRock Z370M Pro4 motherboard ran Firestrike Ultra 4K, i5 9600K's physical score 13,760 seem very low for 6 core with no HT and i7 9700K physical score 18,830. Don't know how good it compare to 8700K at same clock.
I searched i7 9700K and i9 9900K product codes on google and the codes did not existed yet.

Let us know what cooling the 2700x needs at 4.7ghz please......
Until that happens, keep quiet as you have nothing to compare it to.
Wait till April next year to see the new 3700X
I'll be astonished if it can reach 5.0ghz and not require extravagant cooling also.....
Or we can all do a humbug and start the rumour mill here. 3700x 5.0ghz on air

I will say it now, next years ryzen release will approach 5ghz (may not hit it but wont be far away) on air.
If AMD can do 5.0ghz over 8 cores 16 threads on air. I'll be buying it myself.
Though I doubt it, that's why I'm looking at this 9900k

the 9900k will not do 8 cores 16 thread at 5k Stock either, i have no doubt it will at overclocked levels though and i doubt that the next gen ryzen will not be able to 5ghz all core either overclocked.

BTW its likely to be a 12 core, if not a 16 core.

2700X at 4.7GHz needs H20 as minimum cooling or dry ice, cascade and LN2 for 5 mins. AIO cant do it.
This was the last rumour floating around. 7nm will be 5.0ghz. In fact I'm sure it was you that posted it.....
My point exactly. So whilst it's easy to mock, there is nobody else doing it at the moment. Not even close.
