*** The Official Battlefield 5 thread***

Guaranteed it would have been nvidia's choice for the colours.

Along with the nice big fat pay cheque they give DICE/EA to include the ray tracing and gimp the built in frostbite graphics engine's reflections/shadows etc. in order to make ray tracing look a lot superior than what it really is...... they would have wanted the game to be colourful in order to emphasise the ray tracing effects even more i.e. have the reflections etc. pop out even more, their rtx ray tracing demo of the tank and flame flower makes this extremely obvious.

My thoughts also. However, I have a funny feeling the RTX demo was comparing RTX to reflections/shadows on lower settings rather than being completely gimped... I hope.

Anyone that played Alpha know whether you can de-clutter the screen with options? you know, so you don;t have "Last Player Left In Squad, HEADSHOOTTT, KILL, +234234 points" etc all showing up at at once?

Wasn't a fan of this bit of gameplay, was like the player had a rocket shoved up his ass and given a fully automatic railgun. May have been the fov but it looked almost sped up.

People have been ingrained through TV and movies that WW2 was grey and muted. Of course there was some bright colours.

Yup, its not as if ww1 and ww2 were eras that were totally devoid of colour. Even bf1 had some pretty bright areas in maps when the sun was out.

They've known they ****ed up on that for the last 2 years, why wait till now to move it, doesn't make sense. Plus release dates for RD2 and COD have been out an age. I'm betting it has something to do with RTX not being ready.

Because preorder numbers are massively down on the last bf game, bf1 had good preorder numbers, the numbers on this are supposedly down 85% in comparison. Their whole marketing campaign for BFv has been utterly crap until the rotterdam trailer and footage started doing the rounds. With people now giving the game a second look and the beta on tuesday it gives them a chance to get some more trailers of other maps in the works to build more hype for it.

RTX functionality they can add in via an update, its not any kind of reason to delay the game.

I wonder if they'll extend the length of the open beta? Hopefully, the delay allows them time to really work on the feedback from players - get the game properly polished up before launch.

This better be because they need more time to polish the game rather than because of RDR2 and COD. Day one sales don't matter except for sensationalist headlines. Overall purchases do matter, number of concurrent players do matter.
