Just been bench marking using super position and thought i would try the new drivers, without changing my clock speeds or anything else my boost has gone from 2100 down to 1900! I've reinstalled 399.24 and i get just shy of 23k on 1080p medium compared to 21k using the newest drivers.

New Nvidia 411.63 drivers hinder performance

NV crippling the 10 series hardware to increase sales of 2080?
To be honest, i think they have slowly being doing that for a while now.
I heard this elsewhere also, but the difference was in margin of error, though it was consistent in that it always was worse on the new driver which raised some eyebrows. Lets see if more reports come in.
Maybe they did it just to make the 1080Ti look a bit worse in all the initial reviews that hit the web and then after they will conveniently claim it is a bug and fix it for the next drive (or after the 2070 comes out)?
We need someone to download and test 4-5 drivers all spaced out by 3 months so we can get a clear picture. Would be funny if drivers from say 9 months ago are 5-10% better or something

Yeah reference XFX Vega 64. Huzzah. When they have Red Devil, Nitro or LC let me know to take them seriously.
Actually when I had the GTX1080 Armor (watercooled at 2164/2190 core), I saw 5% performance drop on the September 2016 drivers and another 3% on the March 2017 drivers.
That is why even today my scores in the benchmarks in this forum for the GTX1080 aren't beaten two years later. Only the TimeSpy lost the lead but due to the fact someone used the 11Gbps VRAM version.
@JediFragger because things are relevant, go to the FS Standard and look at my Vega 64 graphics score with 18.8.1 and compare it even with Kaap's 1850 clocked Vega 64.
And since you are there, look at the higher GTX1080, which last time I checked was still mine.

Out of the box maybe not as fast as 1080 but the reference one throttles to like 1100mhz. In superposition it actually goes even lower. For me if I just increase power to +50 and increase fan speed it already goes up by like 15-20%. Some folk have them running 1700mhz solid which at this point no 1080 oc could keep up.Maybe FineWine is broken on Vega
Also maturing would need more time e.g like 7970 vs 680, 290x vs 780 or even Furyx vs 980ti.
