A car manufacturer you will never buy?

Isn't that some of the point though? Cars like that aren't for people who want to fly under the radar and not be noticed!

Very true, but I had a poor experience in a Lambo, which I guess gives me a poor opinion of them, which of course can easily be changed.
Unlike some people who buy super cars, I am a little like Housey any car I buy it gets used, my SVR has already ticked past 25,000 miles, it gets driven a lot, taken to track days etc and driven daily and its the driven daily aspect which can really rule out some nice cars.

The SVR is not a garage queen or an investment, its an enjoyment and hobby. :)
My problem is I do tend to keep my cars for quite some time or in the M3 case what seems forever. :D

Nope.

Never say never.
Same.

Kia / Hyundai are a prime example. Back when I started driving Korean cars were a joke, now they are well up there with the other middle of the road brands.

Hopefully I've got another 40 years of motoring in me and in that time I'm sure there will be massive changes both in terms of current brands and new ones that don't even exist yet... either that or everything will be effectively a Geely of some sort ;)

French cars. Vauxhall may as well come under this now IMO and wouldn't go there anywhere. Alpine will always appeal. JLR. Although I like a lot of their products, they're definitely not known for their reliability.

Had 3,000 on it when I bought it :D

There tends not to be bad cars these days, all will do a job and be pretty reliable and you never know what's around the corner.

I swore years ago that I'd never ever consider a Vauxhall as I had 2 lemons from them in a row as company cars but last year I was in one of the new Insignia and it was bloody nice, tempted me but have still held true to my words. This even extends to stopping my family from buying them.

I won't buy another Audi. To boring, not all that reliable long term. By 100k miles it was just throwing up bills all over the place. Including a blown turbo.

Also Peugeot OFC.

anything french (well, except an original 205 as a toy), we used to have a 106 and that's enough to put you off for life.

i'd say toyota, but they occasionally make a nice sports car, but certainly none of their run of the mill stuff.

i know i'll never own a proton, highly unlikely i'll buy a vauxhall or a euro ford either. korean stuff maybe, if they keep up with the advancements they've been making.

- Audi. Seemingly driven by the cocks who used to drive BMWs a couple of decades ago. Unfortunately the Audi drivers now seem to mix in both ineptitude and aggression. Don't get me wrong, I've got nothing actually against the cars, though they do seem to be very highly priced Volkswagens with slightly nicer interiors
- From a reliability perspective, anything French, Italian or from JLR. With the Renault ownership of Nissan, Nissan are now in the "doubtful" list
- Anything from GM. Can't remember the last time I came across anything from them that I'd give the time of day to. Bit of a shame in a way, as the exterior designs of Vauxhalls has been really good in the last few years.

My personal favorites are Mazda and Honda, who seem to nicely mix (some) interesting cars with excellent reliability at sensible prices.
My missus is a BMW fan, can't say I think there's any logic to it beyond the badge, though I do find their underlying engineering and development to be seemingly very good.

Ssangyong. However most other manufacturers have atleast one car that I can potentially see some good in.

There are also the ones that I could never buy. Lamborghini and the like, unless I bought a cheap one with a million and four problems

BMW.
Aside from just never wanting to be a 'BMW Driver'... Every one I have tried has been a soul-less and utterly detached drive, with horrible interiors and a stack of features that just feel cheap... made worse by just how many BMWs I see at my local mechanics' places, and how much of a PITA they are to fix.

Vauxhall.
Heap of junk that just doesn't get anything right.

Ford.
Heap of junk that gets most things wrong, and I won't ever forgive them for the Ka. I like the idea of a Mustang or something, but I won't ever be able to afford that sort of thing anyway.

Daewoo.
Twice, my parents drank the Korean Kool-Aid when those cars first hit the UK. Probably why I never had an inheritance. I learned from their mistakes...

Jeep.
Ha ha ha, no.

Plus any brand whose main models are piddly little city runners, like Suzuki.

As a few others have said, Vauxhall.
I was run over by one as a teenager so have always had a bitterness for them ever since, :p the local Vauxhall dealership have a really bad reputation of being completely unwilling to help with any issues regardless of warranty too and require fighting all the way.

My mate has an Insignia, they fitted 4 new tyres with the cars service, one of the tyres completely split in the middle on his way home. He phoned them and they told him to just get the car recovered to kwik fit as it wasn't their problem. Needless to say a strongly worded complaint got him his refund but that is disgusting service from them. I also just don't particularly like the cars nor do I like the chavs in the Corsa's and the slightly older chav's in the VXR's.

Having just got rid of a 208gti after 4 years of ownership I’m pretty sure I’ll never buy a Peugeot or Citroen again.

The 208 was absolutely fantastic to drive. I loved it. It was unfortunately riddled with faults.

- very bad rattles on the dash
- passenger seat locking mechanism glitchy and would sometimes not lock in place.
- high pressure fuel pump went (£800-£1000)
- clutch had a friction type groan, likely from a rusted bearing
- suspension top mounts busted after about a year
- rear windscreen washer pipe cracked...
- bad fogging in headlamps
- very dodgy creaking noises from who knows where
- final icing on cake - engine failure. All 4 cylinders leaking

The wife’s ds3 turbo was exactly like the above but actually even worse.
