So why are you selling the 9900k for £600 still if you have plenty of stock?

So you are deliberately over charging customers under the pretence of very short supply yet you have “plenty in stock”?

So why is the 9900k not selling for the msrp because I’m confused.

Your concussed about what???We buy the stock.. The price on our site is what we charge for it......

Bundles look great value. Good work Gibbo.

Lol I don’t actually care what you charge for something as that is up to you guys it’s just the unsavoury taste of those blatantly profiteering under false pretences.

Don’t get me wrong I’m just as happy to purchase from elsewhere it’s no skin off my nose as such I just don’t like these kind of practices.

Profiteering - Disproportionately large or grossly unfair profit, generated often through manipulation of prices, abuse of dominant position, or by exploiting a bad or unusual situation such as temporary scarcity. There is usually no governmental control over profiteering unless it involves illegal means.

manufacturer's suggested retail price
Yes the price has been suggested and in this case overclockers and others are hiding behind a shortage as a way to increase prices beyond a reasonable amount to increase their profit margins.

I understand supply and demand but to on one hand say their is a shortage of stock to then on the other say we have plenty of stock is IMO is not acceptable.

Overclockers have done an amazing job to build themselves up in to the position they are in, but they deserve to be called out on this, this is taking advantage out of their customers and is something that goes against their aim of supplying exceptional customer service. A pack of haribo is not enough.

Good point, really odd though when retailers can sell at any price they want, that they sell for very similar but higher prices and no-one at the msrp...is Intel raising the prices to retailers to the point that there is no profit at the MSRP?

Well obviously Intel are not slapping the back of their hands for increasing prices, either that or we have price fixing across the market.

I’d like to know who’s profiteering from these abnormally higher prices.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not bitter as I have no intention of buying right now or paying over the odds I just cannot stand greedy business practices.

All depends on the price OC actually managed to buy it for from the wholesalers... If they got it around the Intel MSRP or less then yes you can accuse them of profiteering but they might have had to buy them themselves at an inflated price hence the reason they have the price they have. I do find it strange literally everyone is charging the same price though... Only thing you can do is what myself and others did, went from going to spend 1k plus on an upgrade to spending 0..
Problem is there's enough saps buying them at the price that they are so you can't really blame a supplier for selling the items to them can you.

what's wrong with making a profit? at the end of the day, OC is a business and thus need to make a profit... If there's a shortage issue with a desired product and a company is able to outbid their competition to get more stock, then surely that's good business sense?!? If the company has had to pay more to get the stock then they naturally need to sell it for more to keep the same profit margins. Not saying this is outbidding competition, but you could well imagine a situation like that. If the product sells and people pay an elevated price (whether happy to or not) then it's priced for the market...

Even the news/reports of shortages is enough to elevate prices, just look at the way shares bounce about with good/bad news...
