A necessary evil.
I had a little sympathy until you went full retard.YesYou'd prefer that the roads weren't gritted?
I can't say I'm too concerned really. I only drive my wifes <£1k run around or my company car at this time of year anyway.
Personally I'd rather rock salt wasn't used on the roads though.
Keep well back and in icy conditions try to avoid back roads which are most likely not treated.
Not much you can do about that alas - part of the necessary evil ultimately.Keeping well back doesn't work if one comes past you in the other directionOnce had a screen chipped by a spreader coming the other way, decided for my screen excess it wasn't worth the stress of trying to prove the gritter was to blame.
I know there is, it's cheap. Anyway, there are several alternatives being tested in localised area so my hope is that at some point an alternative will emerge.Keep well back and in icy conditions try to avoid back roads which are most likely not treated.
I’m sure neither your wife’s runaround or your company car isn’t immune to ice on the roads and equally you’d soon complain if rock salt wasn’t used - have a read.

There’s a damn good reason they use rock salt.
You joke, but most driving aids make driving on snow worse from my experience. I do tend to turn traction control off when driving on proper snow (like up the Alps). No grit and driving aids disabled is the motors way.
