Bad experience with RTX2080ti eBay

My wild guess is it’s a hijacked account from a once legitimate seller - he might not even be aware.

@OP if you paid with PayPal I’m almost 99.9999% certain you’ll get your money back soonish, I imagine the funds were probably held by PayPal anyway and never made it to the sellers bank account, even if it did - you’re still protected by PayPal seller protection, you also claimed you paid with a credit card which was the right thing to do.

People do get stung like this and it sucks, hope it all turns out ok ( pretty sure it will )

Is this a troll?

Would you really pay £1000+ for a GPU from eBay? That offers no protection? No after customer service? No Warranty protection?

I mean, if you willing to pay £1000+ already, how much are you really saving in the end?

Entirely predictable.

OP... I fear for your future financial situation if you fall for obvious scams like this.

I'd be somewhat surprised if a scammer was phased by an internet hardman.
I'm not trying to phase him/her. Simply expressing my feelings about the apparent ease that someone can steal money like that without repercussions.

Yes there is an element of allowing this to happen from the op and I know that he will get money back from the cc company or PayPal but that almost makes it worse. The thief gets away with it with the money free to just do it again. There is just something very wrong with it.

Posting of the back of a Google search on the seller. Think I’ve been scammed? I have recently received an RTX2080ti from the seller mentioned here although I originally bidded on and won a Wii balance board manual. Not too happy about this as that manual would have completed my collection. What do I do now??

:D

Unless all the others receive a 2080Ti, I think the OP is safe in that ebay will realise that this was a fairly large scam.

Unfortunately ebay is full of underpriced items which are on hijacked accounts. However, to me they are always obvious.

Cheap and they take ages to sell (because others also realise it is a scam). The items are uncharacteristic of the account. It's listed far too many times. Certain categories also attract them.

I've got a wii balance board manual in mint condition, I'll grudgingly accept the trade.
