Will you be buying an RTX TITAN ?

Nvidia have changed tactics this release. The ti was always released later, milking the early adopters. I can’t believe that people didn’t grow wise to this, and more and more didn’t just wait for the ti. I’d imagine the Titan wasn’t particularly profitable anymore, hence the V being aimed at a different market.

I think we’ll see a hefty performance bump this time around, and a price tag to match it. Absolutely won’t be worth it, but here’s hoping it drops the ti to a more sensible RRP. (Hey, I can dream can’t I?).

When has a top tier card ever offered similar price/performance to the mid-range?

Nvidia have had so much time to develop and design they should be hammering AMD in all metrics. All you hear is how Nvidia are in a different league to AMD so they should be able to get close AMD's performance to price ratio, if not beat it with the top end card.

I'll probably pick one up but the power limit does raise some questions in terms of gains over a 2080Ti. Those of us with higher scores on 2080Ti in the benchmark threads are all using Bios in the range 366-380W. A Titan that comes out with a board tdp of say 285 and a power limit of ~320ish could potentially struggle this time to beat the high-end Tis.

Then there's the issue of the extra 256 cores, which is the same difference as 1080Ti -> Xp. However, it's on a larger total number and therefore a smaller percentage boost than with the Xp. Memory bandwidth should be slightly higher but even so, the margins are tight for it to beat well clocked 2080Tis.

I'm sure a lot of people are cancelling Turing orders, with them being more than a little dodgy and horribly over priced.
Ay people are buying up 1080ti's 2nd hand for stupid prices. I basicly had a 1080ti for 1½ years and paid nothing for it.. thats how much i got for mine when i sold it a short while ago. I'm just glad to be free of the green eco system.

No, but if I win it as an award, I will sell it, and with the money will buy either a whole new configuration including everything, or add some more and buy a new car :D

Titan v was released a year ago on the 7 of December. Wonder if they're looking to repeat that this year.

I think it’s a marketing strategy to change the negative narrative that’s come out, I reckon Titan RTX FE card for $2000! In which case you’ll be down £8,000! Loved the extra cards to frame!

Thing is, Titan V is based on the GV100 core used in Volta Tesla cards. That is still Nvidia's largest core to date. Was easy then to just siphon off some cores into the Titan V as they already existed.

This time around, the Tesla GPU's in Turing lineup are actually smaller, they seemed to have aimed for power efficiency with a 75w Tesla GPU. So there is still nothing bigger Nvidia are producing then what is already in the Titan V core wise.

On a slightly different note nearly all the 2080 Ti cards that have failed used the FE PCB, are going to see this problem again with the RTX Titan which is likely to use the same PCB.
