Woman thrown out of Parliament in Australia for not covering up.

No that isn't what I said. As I've already explained to you I'm highlighting that I think it is hypocritical of him. Your claims re: what I "seem to think" are things you've attributed to me not things I've said. Try to respond to what has actually been posted as it would cut down on the amount of back and forth posting needed to answer a point or clarify things.

Ok, let me speak dowie then:

You say he can't criticise a thread because he made a silly thread years ago. Can you clarify the cooling down period after a silly thread has been posted, and do other threads reduce the time? At what point does he gain the ability to criticise threads again? If he apologises for his thread four years ago, does that fix it?

Nope, I didn't say that.

Fix what? What cooling down period?

You're creating some argument based on your own projections rather than what I've actually posted. I'm simply pointing out that he's being rather hypocritical.

For example suppose a 20 stone man calls another 20 stone man fat and suggests he loses weight - that criticism is perfectly valid, it is also hypocritical coming from another 20 stone man.

You've then come up with some alternate argument in your head that because I've pointed out (IMO) some hypocrisy then I also think the opinion offered is invalid or irrelevant etc.. and you've then carried on some line of questioning based on this.

seriously wtf!!!

sleeveless clothing is so popular now its pretty much almost standard for women. That isnt even sleeveless either there is short sleeves, I mean it is an arm, wow.

Nope, I didn't say that.

Can you translate this for me then?

As opposed to your great GD threads... like the last one you posted - "look guys I've seen a spider in my house:

https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/so-everyone-likes-cats-and-dogs.18619718/

Phenomenal posting there.

Followed by this:

That is literally the last thread he posted in GD - it is a bit rich for someone like him to complain about GD threads when they're free to create their own threads and seemingly haven't bothered to do so for 4 years. And you're doing the same thing you criticised, you're referencing previous posts/arguments etc...

I'm not sure what is wrong with the argument "nobody is forcing you to read it"? I mean do you find yourself compelled to reads these threads regardless?

The TLDR is "he is free to post his own threads but his last thread was crap and four years ago so he has no grounds to criticise this thread".

So again:

You say he can't criticise a thread because he made a silly thread years ago. Can you clarify the cooling down period after a silly thread has been posted, and do other threads reduce the time? At what point does he gain the ability to criticise threads again? If he apologises for his thread four years ago, does that fix it?

Make sense now?

Can you translate this for me then?

Yes, I already have done, I think he's being hypocritical. I've already given you that explanation but for some reason you keep on quoting me and throwing in additional arguments based on things you've made up.

Make sense now?

No, it doesn't.

"You say he can't criticise a thread because he made a silly thread years ago." is false, I've not said that.

So why can't he be hypocritical then?

I didn't say he can't. I'm highlighting that he is (IMO).

He's free to be hypocritical if he likes and I'm free to respond and point that out.

To what end tho? You say we're derailing this thread but then bring hypocrisy in to it. We now have both hypocrisy and irony in a thread about arms, where do we go from here?

To what end tho?

How do you mean?

You keep quoting me to ask questions partly based on things I've said and partly based on things you've created yourself. I'm merely responding. I gave, what I thought were, reasonable explanations several posts back.

How do you mean?

What I mean is, why does his hypocrisy invalidate his opinion?

Err you would get kicked out of a lot of places for wearing that where the dress code specifies no short sleeved shirts.

At least if you're a bloke. Women have always got away with murder at work when it comes to attire.

What I mean is, why does his hypocrisy invalidate his opinion?

I never said it did - I've pointed this out to you already, even gave you an analogy in a previous post:

For example suppose a 20 stone man calls another 20 stone man fat and suggests he loses weight - that criticism is perfectly valid, it is also hypocritical coming from another 20 stone man.

You've then come up with some alternate argument in your head that because I've pointed out (IMO) some hypocrisy then I also think the opinion offered is invalid or irrelevant etc.. and you've then carried on some line of questioning based on this.

Well we've had hypocrisy, irony, and now two fat guys have entered the thread. I've named them Porky A and Porky B. If they were to hypothetically join this debate, would their opinions be valid, or do they have to have posted a good thread in a certain span of time? If so, what's a good thread and how old can it be?

You're still fixated on this validity argument that you've made up yourself. I think that since you've come up with it in your own head then you'll have to answer it yourself too.
