Fights in bars...what would you do?

So I've just been in my local Wetherspoons for lunch (I'm off today) when a younger guy started on an older one. I was heading off for a vape past them and no one was stepping in to break up the fight. I pulled the younger guy off who then left and the older guy got back up and back to a fruit machine so I didn't really check how he was. The bar was pretty full but no one else helped apart from one chap who came over and stood there.

Am I silly getting involved? What would you do? Obviously don't know why it started etc but it was 3 on a Monday afternoon in a crowded bar...

Depends, you never know what you'd do until it happens. If I knew one or both of them I'd definitely step in. If I didn't, then IDK :p OTOH you don't know what's going on, he might have deserved it

Who knows if he deserved it but he was getting properly beaten up and not fighting back (too drunk). Also the other guy was going on about killing him etc lol, who knows what he would have done.

This type of situation is mostly resolved by jumping right in with a windmill combination then a boxing stance
 
probably a scrap over the machine younger guy puts loads in the machine and wins sweet fa , when his back is turned older guy jumps on it like a vulture hoping it gonna pay out it probably got filmed and will end up on the daily mail shortly :p
 
Yes you're stupid getting involved, I'd have done the same.

The right thing to do isn't always the safest thing to do but I've found over the years, if you can make them engage their brain it can diffuse any situation.

Make them realise that there are witnesses, cctv, the outcome of their actions "do you want to go inside for attacking him in front of all these witnesses? is he really worth that?"
