Just heading into Reading on the train for late lunch and a couple of drinks with family and friends. Get the train back to the sticks at about half seven, possibly go for one in the local and then go home and fall asleep by ten.

On the train to London, going to do the night in soho, probably start with a meal somewhere, maybe Japanese - then party time!

We’ll be at our niece’s place from around 6.00 p.m., her husband is a chef, and is doing Philly Cheese Steaks, lots of cold cuts, ham, beef, chicken etc., unlimited red, white, and rosé wines, a case of Piper Heidsieck for midnight, and beer for the peasants.
Other relations are bringing dishes of lasagne and moussaka, and my wife is taking 3 packs of 24 frozen escargots, which are ready in 12-15 minutes when put in a hot oven.
These I will fight any man in the house for, if they touch them, well maybe I’ll give up 5 or 6.

I'm at the age where going out for New Years Eve is still appealing so going to a local party which will more than likely be going on til early hours of the morning.

The wife works at an estate with a stately home. The steward is having an orient express themed party. I'm anti social and already nackered so would prefer to watch tv and play video games with the squits.

I'm sure it will be fun in the end.

Not a clue at the moment. I may be out to a bar later (or perhaps early evening drinks) but I'll likely be at a friends or back home for Jools and the fireworks on TV for actual NY.

Well she's in Portugal at the moment and I don't like partys

Never really understood the significance of new year anyway. However I don't judge those that choose to celebrate it.
