Latest Gillette ad suggests their customers are broken, toxic and need "fixing" through feminism

Cretin. I can only hope that the millions of threats to stop using Gillette all over the internet don't follow through as it will cost thousands of people their jobs. People like this need to be put down for the sake of humanity.

The fact we are talking about it means its been a success for them.
bad press is worse than no press.

all this bashing men thing is in fashion these days, only a matter of time before babies are evil little creatures behind all the worlds pain.

Did we watch the same video? The second half entirely focuses on the good men setting a positive example for others.

Which of those things are NEVER done by women? It's focusing on the minority of bad men (and fuelling identity groupings) when most of us are like the guys they portray in the latter half like you say. It doesn't need to be promoted, ********* just need to be put in their place whether they be gay/straight/male/female/whatever/etc

Not sure that's how success is measured!

People will just buy what they always have, and in the process the brand gets a heavy punch of free advertising. Besides, this sort of crap is VERY popular all over the world now so I doubt it will harm them if a few men try to boycott them.

Exactly, its in fashion. So is it bad press? Or will the majority lap it up...

I don’t see anything wrong or offensive with the advert. I’m not triggered by being told there is an ongoing responsibility of men to curb sexism, bullying or other reprehensible behaviours *shrug*

Advert doesn't really bother me. While the message seems unrelated to the product, i find it no less palatable compared to their old adverts that involve several top sports stars shaving in front of the mirror while the narrator reads out some ridiculous product name that seems to be created to compete in the 10-12 year old boy toy market - 'Mach 3 Turbo pro glide' :p

I don’t get why you would be offended... it’s clearly targeted at men that act inappropriately (fighting / leering over women etc) so why would that offend you if you know you don’t do those things?

Nope, look at the BBQ scene ... a massive row of men just watching on, all saying the same phrase ... implying that the vast majority ( rather than a minority ) of men would behave in that manner.

The notion that to act as a good example to your children is is good ... I agree with that.

Its how they compare against a suggestion that all men are inappropriate is whats wrong with the video. Also it seems that men are being stereotyped as weak for being offended by the video ... cant you see the hypocrisy in that.
