Yeah, a hard brexit means they won't have any food to give out....
Probably will be the case that if prices rise and income falls, people won’t be quite so willing to buy a tin or two extra to pop in the supermarket food bank bin.

In our supermarket, there’s two bins. One for the food bank and one for the animal shelter. Honestly, the food bank one is always barely half full, while the animal one is always overflowing with tins of food, biscuits, treats and toys. I swear a fair percentage of the population do care more for animals than their fellow humans.

What a stupid comment. How can somebody educate themselves if asking the question is met with responses like this.

Well the OP seems to not be thinking this, but I was careful with how I worded it as I didnt want to throw an accusation, if it appeared I was then I am sorry.

I was frustrated as I have done various stints at food banks, and its my own belief that most people feel really shameful to even be there, and as has been said referrals usually are required as well.

Christ, this forum, head in the sand most of ya.

Food banks have increased massively due to extreme austerity imposed on the nation by the super rich (the tory party being the controlling force politically).

It's really quite obvious I don't understand why people refuse to see this.

On a side note, were approaching the end game of capitalism now, there is a few more decades left in the rotten machine but it will end likely 5-8 decades.

For the uneducated what will happen now in a roundabout way:

1) The super rich will try to privatise the planet essentially - end 'democracy' and become capitalist driven imperialism (essentially what the USA does now, meddles and invades counties with oil)

2) The rich will get richer and the poor poorer - this is nothing new but the pace and velocity of this will increase exponentially now over the coming decades

3) Most people of this forum are middle to middle upper class people, perhaps one or 2 high class - over the given time frames 99% will become destitutly poor, the middle will become poor, the poor will get wiped out.

4) In the end we will have a planet of nearly all incredibly poor people and a handful of super rich and unimaginably powerful people that have it all - they will pay for their own personal doctors, staff, security and be ruling, until the natural resources run out.

Pretty much it - unless some sort of social control takes over - but the 1% won't want this as it will reduce their absolute power - they are already worried, just look at mainstream media for example - its absolutely bonkers, but they are going all out to reserve their personal wealth.

Anyway went off on a tangent there, but in a nutshell its basically true - at its core, what will happen maybe up and down, but it will follow that general trend.

Sure there will be people on here thinking I need a tin foil hat, but if in general people can't see what's happening or at least see a trend, then stupidity is more rife than I had imagined.

The planet has a limited number of resources - as time goes on, the rich will try and control that for them until its all gone.

Then why is the human population exponentially increasing whilst most wildlife populations are dropping massively?

Ummm because we are destroying their habitat. Doesn't lessen their ability to survive in the wild.

While living in South Africa 30 years ago we had a golden retriever that went missing from the site we were camping at, which was ~70 miles away from our home. We lived in a remote rural area near Capetown.

We thought he was gone, 7 week's later he found his way back home, filthy but otherwise fine, he had barely lost any weight so had obviously been eating something. That was a domestic dog.

Precisely. Hence why fewer humans and more care for them would be beneficial.

I'd like to share a revelation I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species. I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You move to another area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You are a plague, and we are the cure.

What is middle to middle upper to you, wealth, education or other etc?

Shirley in this day and age with the internets the so-called uneducated can easily educate themselves either individually or through pack learning, all the knowledge is there, can you believe 20 years ago you really had to know people or read books to get any knowledge or wealth.

These super rich are just people, they will die like anyone else, don't take this the wrong way but a lot of crazy people out there so if so much hate for the super rich why not just knock them off, it's not like they have private armies?

Can't believe everything revolves around numbers in an account or coins in your hand.

You could be right though. A few things of interest.

Telemetric car insurance, apparently you can be fined if driving badly, also premiums can increase
The Swedes are inserting microchips under there skin and I thing their Gov are enforcing it in some cases

Universal credit/benefits may be scrapped and replaced with a basic income for everybody

I'm sure there are loads more examples. Hence heading toward a totalitarian world.

what has allowed capitalism to keep on working is three things really.

1 - access to credit.
2 - more money injected into system, without this money would run out as it gets hoovered up by the most wealthy.
3 - state social security systems which keeps the poorest from dropping dead, and of course helps keep crime under control.

Me saying doesnt necessarily mean I hate capitalism, its just an observation I have made based on my studies of business, economies and history, other means of managing society such as communism are not necessarily any better.

Credit works because it gives people the means without otherwise doing so to buy things and to start businesses, this helps the economy in generally.
Money injection is basically to keep money been accessible to the poor, as the only alternative is to claw it back from the rich which is easier said then done.
Social security aka welfare obviously keeps those who would otherwise die off or resort to crime, still in the system and give them the means to buy stuff even if its only necessities like food and shelter.

So capitalism will survive but there is warning signs of what you saying possibly coming true, the movement we have in trying to get rid of social security systems, as well as tighter access to credit.

We haven't had 'extreme' austerity, goverment spending has gone up consistently since 2008. The reality is that the boomers retirements costs are really hitting home now and it simply isn't feasible to maintain the labour public spending largesse of the late 90`s going into the nougties.

It's really quite obvious I don't understand why people refuse to see this.

On a side note, were approaching the end game of capitalism now, there is a few more decades left in the rotten machine but it will end likely 5-8 decades.

Sigh. capitalism is simply the private ownership of the means of production and distribution as long as humans survive capitalism will to some degree unless we truly fall into absolute tyranny.

A country being capitalist doesn't ensure that it won't be corrupt but the alternatives to capitalism (attempts at collectivism like socialism be it national or otherwise) are guaranteed to become very quickly corrupt as the authoritarian power structures they require attract the wrong sort of people and reward perverse incentives.

For the uneducated what will happen now in a roundabout way:

But yet global poverty has been decreasing?

There are of course some big problems on the horizon re resources, climate and social issues but these are not inherent to capitalism but rather to things like our levels of resource extraction and use (with socialism not exactly having a stellar record for not screwing up the enviroment whilst being rather inefficient in its means of production) so unless you think you can sell a very different (and reduced quality) of life to people these problems will remain.

Pretty much it - unless some sort of social control takes over - but the 1% won't want this as it will reduce their absolute power - they are already worried, just look at mainstream media for example - its absolutely bonkers, but they are going all out to reserve their personal wealth.

Some sort of 'social' control. ....?

Why so shy? Are you afraid that if you give that system its actual name (socialism) you know you will be presented with its repeated failures and made to look clueless?

How does this 'social' control work? Have you somehow managed to eliminate hierarchical structures and if not won't there still be a '1‰` at the top regardless?

Anyway went off on a tangent there, but in a nutshell its basically true - at its core, what will happen maybe up and down, but it will follow that general trend.

The planet has limited resources, humans always have been and will remain animals with a hierchal structure so thoose at the top will always try to control said resources and no amount of tinkering with 'social' control will stop this but it could make it a whole lot worse a whole lot faster.
