Is my gpu dying?

Yeah everything is secure, I'm confused.

I guess I'll just keep an eye on it and see if anything else goes wrong. Unless there is anything else you can think of to test?

So this is now really starting to grind my gears!

While playing tonight I've had 2 frame rate drops and stutters in War Thunder, random slow menu responses in Cities Skylines and some screen tearing on those games and on Witcher 3.

I've also heard what can only be described as a 1 second drill noise from inside the pc but all fans are spinning etc! For the life of me I don't know what the hell is going on, It doesn't appear to be the GPU with the amount of testing I've done, it doesn't appear to be the memory having run memtest86 over night. Gysnc is enabled and my monitor is locked at 95hz as clocking it any further gets it a bit tetchy. All my temperatures seem fine.

Has anyone had anything like this before?

Have you ruled out faulty mechanical hard drive/excessive Windows writes to it while gaming. Listing specs might be good at this point.

@orbitalwalsh @tamzzy So this really isn't getting any better so other than possibly my psu, which I doubt I'm wondering if its some how software related despite everything I've already done. So I'm going to refresh Windows and also see if updating the bios does anything if you guys think it will help?

Failing that I'll have to rma the card I think...

I can RMA the card for you but totally agree with the others, BIOS update make sure you have defaults set.. no xmp for example. If that has no affect on the issue, use a fresh install of windows with all updates and latest drivers. If none of that works I will get it back here for a 48 hour test for you.

So the bios update looks very pretty but it doesn't seem to have done anything for the problem. So going to do the windows refresh later today and see if that fixes things...

I'll also retest as I add programs back.

Failing everything else I'll buy a new a new psu at the end of the month just to rule that out, if its not that I'll have the old one as a spare or could use it for my lads pc when I come to do it.
