Evening all

Me and the wife are visiting London on the 10th of May, Only staying up there one night and spending the days doing some tourist bits... We love going up there as it takes us back to some good times.

Can any of you locals give us good ideas or locations to visit, Ive created a list below of what we've done already

Madame Tussauds
The Shard
London Eye
Jack the ripper museum
Big Ben
National History

If there are any other decent museums or Locations that would be a good help.

Done the shopping streets but will obviously hit them again as that's what I get dragged up there for :p

Tower of London is very good.

never thought of this one, will look at this for us now, thank you

Sky garden (top of the walkie talkie) and it's free

It's fantastic, blows the eye out of the water.

Oh and take the missus to Choccywoccydoodah in covent garden.

WOW never knew about this, will definitely head over there, cheers.. As for ChoccyWoccyDooDah what's that haha

Yeah we got some and our own weapons hahah

If you do tower of London do the Tower Bridge experience while you're next to it, it's pretty interesting.

I saw the Tower bridge experience advertised, it does look quite good actually, cheers

Not sure whether you need to do the Shard and the London Eye. Shard is higher, London Eye is better situated.

I have never done Madame Tussauds. I always thought that was for the American/Chinese tourists only. Never saw the appeal.

Other things to consider.
You can't go into Big Ben and currently (IIRC) it is covered in scaffolding. At certain times though you can go into the Houses of Parliament if you pre-book. Really interesting if you can get in.

Also agree on Tower of London

We've done Tussauds enough now and it was quite boring second time around... We usually walk around by the Big ben area so if there's anything around there you could recommend then great, We usually stroll down the waterside on the evening so any bars etc

You'll need to book weeks in advance, if not months as it's always slammed. Book on their site.

Don't forget to take the missus up the OXO Tower ;)

I'd highly recommend a riverboat trip. I often get the riverboat from Canary Wharf down to Waterloo on the way home in the evening. London can be very pretty as it's getting dark and it's lit up. It's a commuter boat, but there is a bar on board and I often stand outside at the back having a beer and watching London pass by on the way home. Then have a couple more when it's summer out the back of the National Theatre when it's hot. There are obviously other stops too and you can make it a much longer trip if you want.

I've not been to the Imperial War Museum for years but apparently it's still worth a trip.

Personally I wouldn't bother with the wax museum. Again I've not been there in years but I can't imaging that waxworks are too exciting and it's likely to be very expensive.

The science museum is excellent

A speedboat trip down the Thames is pretty decent too

A walk around st James unto the palace is nice

Sea life centre is ok

Batteries dogs home if that’s your thing

we've never heard of the OXO tower but looks mint on the pics with the Playstation lights on...

I do like the sound of a boat trip on an evening could be a good shout that one bud.

well Tussauds is alright the first time but then just becomes boring and repetitive, also having a mime bloke in your face while queuing up really ****** me off
