Just wondering how many of you take your laptops on holiday with you being as they wouldn't fit in the room safe.

Wouldn't fit in the safe? I've never found a hotel safe that doesn't fit my space grey 13‑inch MacBook Pro with Stunning Retina display & Touch Bar.

Am I doing it right?

Yes because I’ll use it for half an hour or so in bed before I drift off to sleep. Also, it’s handy for music while we’re sitting playing cards in the remote woodland cabin in the evening.

I keep my main laptop at home and take my old Windows Vista laptop for writing my holiday journal on, sending out emails and organising photos that I have taken on my camera.

Have done sometimes for watching films on etc.

I've found safes can be a bit hit or miss, some have actual laptop safes big enough for a good sized laptop, others are barely big enough to store your wallet in.

But how many of your numerous Gucci belts can be squished in at the same time? The hotel skivvies surely couldn't help themselves

Once, and it actually proved very useful when some things went horribly wrong in the holiday, but normally no, I see no reason to in all honesty.
