I've got a 2080. No interest in ray tracing at all xD. Was better priced than 1080 Ti when I bought mine. So went for the newer card.
In a couple of gens time maybe the 4080 Ti etc, if we can turn ray tracing on without it crippling FPS I might try it. If there was any loss in fps or having to downgrade resolution to turn it on I would just never use it.
If AMD launch a faster GPU without ray tracing I would take that.
If Nvidia made a faster GPU without ray tracing I would take that too xD

I care a bit now I'm happily using it in SOTR in a mostly 60fps experience.
Fire lit interiors will be difficult to go back to without ray tracing.

I just bought a 2080, been team red for 20 years, they burtst my bubble with the terible navi launch, im excited to see rtx on with my own eyes, and still have better performance than my radeon 7 if i turn it off
I am on a 7700k with a 2080. FPS drops to 49-50 fps in the city areas. Paititi is horrible. The cities destroy the fps
it wont be worth paying a premium for it for a few years yet,
imo its something they should be working on for future gfx, but its worthless right now
I'm having a bit of fun with it in Quake 2 - some self indulgent map editing rather than a ray tracing showcase but I need a Turing card really
I have to drop to 640x480 to get 60 FPS with high settings on my 1070 and anything beyond 1280x720 (~20fps by that point) is a literal slideshow.

30% more gpu power, a few more gb of vram and a price tag of £700 and I will be tempted.

Considering what? it being about double the launch price of the previous gen Ti?
considering what the price was at launch and how it compares to other 2080ti models

Is there an event on this week? I know the 21st was rumoured as the reveal date, but I've not seen anything concrete since.
I heard it would be announced friday but we will have to wait and see. After AMD's GPU announcement Nvidia will probably cancel it

I'm tempted to upgrade. The games I have presently are struggling on my 1080. But I do not want Nvidia to release new GPU's around Cyber Punk 2077 release.
