2085 or 2070 super ti for the 2080sAnd call the 2080 Super a 2080 Ti? Oh, wait.
The answer is simple.
The answer is prefaced by the condition "IF YOU WANT TO..."
The answer is: "Keep the same budget each generation and don't be prepared to spend ever-increasing amounts to get your fix."
The problem is that prices keep going up (way above inflation) and people keep raising their budgets to allow them to buy into it.
If that's what you want, great. If that ****** you off, but you buy into it anyway, then you're only hurting yourself. Because you help allow the trend to continue.
Ah, the good old days when you could spend £3500 for a 486 to play Doom. Kids today...I'm not sure how old you are but I think you may have forgotten how expensive PC gaming was back in the day

retailers try to spin the price gouge, fanboys defend it, end of the day an Ultra card used to cost £400 now we're being charged more than triple that....and most of you just play the same games and run the same benchmarks
Gaming on the PC now is cheaper than it's ever been, fact, building a budget system today gives you access to more games than ever and the performance to play them. I'm not sure how old you are but I think you may have forgotten how expensive PC gaming was back in the day, the constant need to upgrade to be able to play games adequately, in today's market you don't need the top spec CPU/GPU to play the latest games, and you don't need to upgrade nowhere near as often, this saves you a ton of money in the long run, I've spent less than £1000 on my rig in 8 years.
Lol, no. Demonstrably not true. I'm not sure who you're trying to kid.Gaming on the PC now is cheaper than it's ever been, fact, building a budget system today gives you access to more games than ever and the performance to play them. It's probably true to say that back in the early 80s things were more expensive.
To say that today is the cheapest they've ever been? It's just obviously false. Most if not all of us here will know that both CPUs and GPUs were cheaper a decade or so ago.
And I'm talking mid-range. Because I'm a mid-range buyer. I don't even bother looking at top end prices.
I'm not sure how in my nostalgia for the early (but expensive) days of PC gaming I was asking to be raped. Nice crowd here. That's one way to justify getting raped, but you were asking for it.

I think some people here get off on spending £500 on a mid-range GPU. I really do.My top of the range 486DX system cost me about £700 back in the day
Ultra would have been a much nicer word, super is so 80s 90s and lame, like a super soaker
