according to the sales and marketing a 2060S RTX is almost double the speed of a 1080Ti

And there, ladies and gentlemen, is the attitude that guarantees prices will keep going up.We're not getting a £250 1440P card, got to face reality. Moaning about it won't achieve anything.
Either quit PC gaming or pay up.

Why many are leaving PC gaming and going consoles. PS5 and next Xbox will be the nail in the coffin.

pc gaming is dead at this rate, it boggles my mind people are happy to pay more for less! And there, ladies and gentlemen, is the attitude that guarantees prices will keep going up.
Also that £250 will only get you 1080p/60 class cards for the foreseeable future.
But it's cool, we don't want progress. We just want to be bent over and taken for everything we've got. We want it, and we pay for it.
I'll be doing as you say and quitting PC come PS5 in 2020. Enjoy your niche market segment which developers largely ignore because the vast, vast majority have sub-£200 cards (or laptops, etc).
You'll be moaning that "My £2000 card barely looks any better than a PS5! Developers should spend time and money catering to me! Why don't they? Consoles are holding us all back!" And ignoring the elephant in the room - prices.

There's more in a console than a GPU... so why are you confused?I'm confused. You are going to pay £500(ish) for a PS5 but you won't spend that on a GPU that will do more than 1080p at high FPS? Or less as there are 250-300 card doing fine at 1440p.

Yes I need a full PC upgrade. A GPU is part of a full-system upgrade. But you already have a PC right? Or are you saying you need a full PC upgrade? In which case it's not the GPU costs fault.
Also check the die sizes of the GTX 960 and 1060. Smaller than even the 1660ti.

So it's not GPUs fault that GPUs are expensive? Wut?

nVidia must rub their hands in glee at the responses of some of these posters![]()
Yeah am at work... hopefully still there when I get home@FoxEye The Vega 56 Pulse has dipped below £250. Isn't that the model you were after??

The same thing was said about Xbox One, PS4 and Xbox One X. The majority of people who game on PC want to play at better than 30fps or play games that are not available on console. It'll be fine as always.
