Mate the 3700X is basically on par with the 3900X that has a faster boost speed. 3700X all the way.

@Gibbo so i ordered stuff. Not seen any reply here. All stuff ordered today goes out shipped tomorrow ye ?? So should I book day off on tueseday to have FUN DAY ??

yup thats wha my plan is 4.4 all core if im lucky 4.5 with voltsss
i bought angled ek fittings to go from the cpu block to the vrm and then to a 60mm thick rad eventually, got nf-a12x25 fans *6 she's gonna run super cool and be deadly silent XD using soft 13/19mm tubing and ek fittings also

I'm happy with the result. It's Day 0 and gaming performance across the board is near parity or a bit behind and everywhere else it's an absolute stomp for the 3900X. New platform and hopefully some maturity to be seen with OS and BIOS updates and better understanding of how to exploit the Zen2 chips.

Went 3700X also, then later will do a mobo upgrade and move to the 16 core monster. Pass this rig onto my kids. 3700X is a power efficient beast.
The 12 core is nice but the one I really want is not out yet..
Imagine what a monster the 16 chip will be xD
Thanks for heads up. Cause whole new rig for my mate ordered also and that was all in stock. So worst case scenario i put hes new pc together before i move to my fun time

Im on 3440x1440 as well but on a Vega 64 while i wait for AIB 5700XT (Nitro+ hopefully!) and i just couldnt justify the 3900x so i went for the 3800x, means i keep the same core count as my 1700 but get a lot more perf out the box
Yeah, even that and the 3700X looks fine
i am 95% with you . Just want to be shure.

I'd love to know the selling point for X570 at this point.
Perhaps more stable PBO for the 3950X but otherwise these chips don't have OC headroom to warrant the extensive VRM setup.
If you want PCIE4.0 for storage then great. Otherwise you're paying a silly premium for an extra source of noise
Unless you have specific needs there isn't a selling point (at the price) for X570, it's a gouge, pure and simple.

You're guys are doing the self-justification thing wrong.
You look at the 3900X and see it's too expensive.
You look at the 3600X and then consider the 3700X because it's not much of a jump for the gain
Having settled on the 3700X the 3800X appears to be in reach and you mull over it
Feeling cheeky you settle on the 3800X and come to terms with that
Having come to terms with the 3800X the gap between it and the 3900X is smaller than the 3600X
You've completely forgotten you were ever considering the 3600X at this stage
You buy a 3900X
