5700XT Hitting 2.3GHz+ - TomsHW-DE

Ooooooooo a tweaked 5700XT with one of the new 43" 4k/144hz 4k monitors coming out with a 75% render + Radeon Image Sharpening (to pretty much look at good as native) is a reallllllllllly lip-smackly tempting option!!! :D

I just might do it

I know people are not that fond of the blowers, but i think it looks pretty nice and the sound is not loud if you know how to tune a graphics card properly. :)

What does your fan curve look like? It's the one thing I always find frustrating to get just right.

Looking good. I always wait until there's a card nearing double perf of a current card in my system. We are getting close, but I expect a year more on Vega64 for me then jump on a 5900XT or whatever it could be. My card is a bit of a beast anyway to be fair and is still returning me great fps at 1440p

JUST fyi, RIS doesn't work in DX11 which 90% of games use

I knew the navi would clock like crazy when Hardware Unboxed tweeted that their card with a 290 cooler was boosting to near 2GHz without even overclocking.
I bet those who bought the 2070 super will be regretting it pretty soon when they could have got a cheaper card that actually reaches 2080 performance or higher. The AIB cards will allow even better clocks imo if they have better power delivery and voltage regulation.

You need a disclaimer there. The 5700xt nearly reaches stock 2080 performance when you put it under an expensive custom water loop with massive 1.25v and +95% power limit. Also Igor said these settings should not be used as daily as it will kill the card

The price of a 5700xt + EKWB blocks (assuming you already have a loop) is nearly the same as a 2080

They shall be but I can see them being expensive also and maybe with inferior PCBs and components except for the high-end models which for sure will have a size premium like say Sapphire Vapor-X Toxic models with uprated power and VRM components will probably be £450-£500 potentially simply because said cards will no doubt match or beat 2070 SUPER cards in performance, thermals and noise.

Put me down for one of those Toxic cards, no problem paying a bit more if I'm getting more quality for my money

According to Anandtech the 5700Xt can handle 1.2v as standard when boosting. 1.25V isn't that much more if it's cooled properly.

The 2070S outperforms the XT in the majority of games.

As Grim said, you'd need to invest a lot of money to get it towards the 2080, and even the 2080 would just pull away again once overclocked......then there's the 2080S, which will be geared towards 2080Ti performance.

However, both the 2070S and 2080 cost a lot more, and the 2080S will probably require some kind of mortgage! :p

The 2070S outperforms the 5700XT is older games. The cards are within 5-10%% of each other in the majority of games. The 2080 is twice the price of an 5700XT right? Are you telling me you would not go for a card half the price but offers 90% of the performance.

5700XT £ 380, AE £412. EK block for Navi is £116. £380+ £116 = £496.
Cheapest non A 2080 is £600, cheapest A is £660 with barely 100mhz overclock headroom.

Thats over £100 between the two still. And FYI to watercool a 240mm MLC from Caseking Germany goes for £116 to plug the Navi waterblock.

Nvidia also stopped selling RTX2080 and is selling now RTX2080S only at $700.

FYI @Zernath see the last sentence above :)
