It's too hot :(

Getting some really impressive lightning right above me with forks going every which way at once almost to the horizon in every direction - and the horizon here is several miles.

I'm with you on this. Seems anything above 13c is considering a heatwave to some on here. :p

Have you lot acclimatised yourselves to the cold so well that you can't bear what most of us would consider normal summer weather?

Bear in mind a big factor is where you live and what direction your window faces in.

So e.g. I live in Leicester which is notorious for its lack of rain in the summer, or even wind, its the city the furthest distance from any coast. My main windows face the sun where it is from about midday until it goes down. At its most intense.

The west coast e.g. is massively more pleasant in summer than the south east. The other side of my own building is also much more pleasant than my side simply due to the direction it faces. So bear that in mind.

Sure enough its the west where all this lightning and storm is. The west gets all the westerlies.

Usuallly summer storms either come from france or the atlantic. The ones from france tend to get closest to Leicester but rarely make it here, if they do they almost dead when arriving.

The atlantic ones tend to turn north before they hit the east.

Led here with the window open trying to get a breeze because its so damn hot but instead find myself watching the lightning with no rumbles :(

There's an almighty lightning storm going on right now. Weird there's no rain or thunder to go with it!

Oof, scrap that, thunder's rolling in now. Constant flashes of lightning.

That thunder just then was monumental!

Holy crap, 2nd wind here. Thought it was moving away, some huge crashes now

I was hanging out the window for the first half of the storm then came back on the PC when it died down. Then got blasted when the second wind/heavy rain arrived as my windows were open to 90 degrees :D There was one rumble of thunder which was crazy loud; guess it was the one Dazza mentioned. Love me a storm!!

Edit: Holy ****, sounds like we're going for another round! :D

Hearing some really big thumps now but they are in the distance - can still see some flickering on the horizon but mostly passed for now.

This doesn't even come close to representing it - it was never dark but my phone camera just couldn't cope:

I have a ~20 mile view over the Blackmore Vale here so over the entire horizon it was like that x10.

Wow. Craziest storm I’ve ever seen in my life that. Lightning going off virtually a second apart, thought the rain was going to come through the window
