Something super is coming...

Nearly 2.5 years later we still more or less just have a GTX1080ti + 10% performance less 30% memory for the same money. Utter farce!!!

God knows why anyone would buy this or the original RTX2080 i dont know.

Best value right now is RTX2070 Super and thats SLOWER than the GTX1080ti with LESS memory for a fraction cheaper 2.5 years later i.e. also awful value

People are mugs buying this ****. Sorry, its simply true.

Stock card is still average 10-15% slower than the 2080ti in actual games instead of Heaven Benchmark.

If comparing overclocking, then it would only make sense if comparing the performance of both cards overclocked.

Also while overclocking the card would make it "knocking on 2080ti's door", on power consumption it is also "knocking on Vega64's (unrefined voltage) door at 300W" :p:p:p

All the people screaming the Vega cards being "too hot" would be completely ok with the Nvidia card being just as hot and not a word of complain about it :D
I don’t have a lot positive to say about these new 2080’s but comparing power to vega is silly because vega never had the performance, these do.

It's because of the defects of our system. They only want to innovate when there is profit for them. Zero social responsibility and zero meaningful innovation, only shrinks and those stupid shrinks only.
If they cared to rewrite the software and bring something like the Unlimited Detail, things would be much more fair for the society/customers.

This is the first generation with ray tracing hardware, and also the first with dedicated tensor cores to accelerate ML. Sorry it doesn't live up to your expectations, but I still see massive innovation going on in this space.

You will have very big problems with your plan. Good luck with the 10,000$ 7nm wafers, 15-20,000$$$ 5nm-3nm wafers. You will need them to put more transistors for the job.

Also, no one has asked the ray-tracing question. AMD doesn't support it. Officialy, their roadmap says that only the cloud can accelerate with ray-tracing, the **future** AMD hardware may support partial acceleration or only a few effects.

Damn but I thought the next gen consoles were going to?

Actually the Hybrid patent AMD filled for is completely different than what you wrote above.
Get your facts together please.

Great for the SFF crowd but terrible for everyone else unless you want to play with RTX

We are in a bad place as there is no competition.

It's like with Intel during the bad AMD years. (Bulldozer and Piledriver)

Here's the thing though, consumers are partly to blame for this situation. When prices went through the roof during and shortly after the mining craze, people should have stopped buying. They didn't, and so these companies - and Nvidia in particular - realised that they could get away with gouging forever more. There's no way back from that at this point, and even if AMD are eventually able to match Nvidia at the high end, then they'll just charge similar prices and nothing will change. To get prices back down, sales have to tank and tank hard, and that's just not going to happen. :(

yup, if only amd had stepped up their game at the high end to provide competition. :(

1080Ti v3 someone said i agree as well. The AMP was a total £800 flop 100mhz on the cores would not be shocking here. 2080ti overclocks better because it is not maxed out silicon like the 2080 Super. Super means Nvidia overclocking your 2080 and keeping the price from falling.

No thanks on September 9th i will pull the trigger on a 2080Ti near or around £950-999 and the way i am going to look at it is i had no choice i only upgrade to double my fps and the only upgrade from the 1080 there is the 2080ti. So for £999 you overclock to Titan RTX levels and save £1500? Well thats a lot more than the arguements people have over a £669 gpu matching a £999 gpu or a £475 2070s matching a 2080. None of them options come near a £1500 jump yup i win more if i go for the Ti if you get a good price it is the top gpu really. :)

AMD doesn't help, either. When they should have priced the RX 5700 very aggressively , they chose to price it high and make it DOA immediately. Especially, with that awful blower cooler.

The Super line up is a joke and a disgrace to the RTX line up.

It's a fast cash grab at the willing to bend over nvidia fans.

I see nvidia again trying to play clever marketing with the 2080 Super by upping the vram to sweet the deal lol
I can see right through that bull crap nvidia.

Am sorry Amd get a lot of stick for rebranding this is on a hole new level of bull crap. Super cards are nothing more than the GTX Ti line up.
