So my parcel has been delivered to a local shop I use loads to collect my parcels from so the lad asks my name, picks up the parcel and I said "Yes that's it, it's an orthopaedic pillow.
Can I have your bar code or FM number?
I show him my email which says Hermes have delivered it and it's been signed for, now the weird thing the shop have signed with my name but perhaps they do this with everybody!
So I then said "Well you have my parcel, this is my brand new driving license that I got for these occasions and I have proof you have signed for it".
"Sorry we need the FM or bar code > just let me check > right I've put it through again, you should get a text or email in less than a minute".
I waited outside the shop for 10 minutes with no email so I asked what time they are open until but still no email and I've just got back from there with no parcel because they are demanding the bar code or FM code.

So what do I do?
I'm looking on the Hermes site to contact them for my FM code but I can't see anywhere I can contact by email, text or phone!

Come on lads, this pillow cost £9

Is a £9 orthopedic pillow gonna be any good anyway? Treat yoself

even I don't get that!

It's a reference to an old post where someone came home to find a parcel on their roof and a Hermes card on the doormat. It was a GD meme for ages.

EDIT: Yodel, not Hermes. I'd link but it's a pain on a tablet and I have made good use of the all inclusive bar here in Gran Canaria so highly likely to stuff it up.

Had the same problem when some seller decided to use DHL. Worst experience ever. Item was marked as delivered to the shop, instead of available to collection. Even getting the required pin and barcode, took a good chunk of my afternoon waiting for the shop owner to manage the system and handle me over the parcel.

If the lad is just normal customer service staff they probably don't have any options but FM or barcode - you'll need to get a manager. You should have either or both a text or email with the FM number though.

EDIT: I don't believe Hermes themselves can help you here - wherever you bought it from would have generated the FM number when they booked the delivery and should have record of it.

Worth checking if the email with the barcode wasn't sent straight to the spam folder.

Good call but no

Thanks, I'll contact them.
It's there on the eBay page :)

Everybody stand down, Rroff kinda solved it.

Sad times. You know you’re knocking on when you need orthopaedic pillows. It’s only a short step from orthopaedic pillows to walk in baths.
