Spent most of the bank holiday weekend trying to get a replacement screen working for my partner's iPhone 6s having never attempted it before. After following a few youtube videos I was able to swap over the home button and top camera ribbon cable. However when the phone is turned on all that shows is the below. As far as I can tell the three ribbon cables are connected properly but they are hard to press into place.

Any ideas? The colour lines you can see are more purple in real life, my phone made them to look more blue.

If the phone is plugged in to charge the same screen with the lines appear and nothing else, no apple logo or battery symbol.

Third party displays tend to have poorly manufactured connectors that are easy to break when pushing into place on the logic board.

That’s either a broken cable/connector , DOA display or ESD damage to the board

If the ribbon cable is flat then the screen is a defect and needs to be returned for a replacement.

Remove the screen and double check the connectors with a magnifying glass making sure they are all gold contacts on each pin.

Hold Power+Home Button..

Thanks for the replies. I have another screen on the way in case it is a defect which hopefully is the fix.

I did manage to get the screen to show the homepage to begin with but all you could see was the left side of the screen, up to where the purple lines are appearing. I was able to swipe left/right etc but only seeing anything on the left part of the screen that was displaying. Upon taking it apart and checking that I did have everything connected properly, I've not been able to get the screen to display anything more since.

I've taken the screen apart a few times and as far as I can tell the ribbon cables are connected properly (but they are a real pain to fit). I'm fairly sure they were gold connectors but will double check.

The hard reset sadly doesn't bring it back to life.

The fact that half an image appeared on the screen suggests (imho) that it's a problem with the screen and not the phone. If the logic board was screwed up it wouldn't send "half" of a digital signal. Let us know if the replacement screen works. Also check for dust or particulates in the connectors.
