Any risk that Turkey becomes unsafe to travel to, and those with holidays booked there will need ABTA rescue;
can't but see that, like had happened to Egypt, Erdogan's behaviour in Turkey won't have significant repercussions, lots of TV tourist adds atm fot it.

You have to remember Turkey is a huge country geographically. The places tourists go in Turkey isn’t close to the boarder, the country has been a bit iffy for years and still hasn’t really put people off.

Tbh, I feel the highstreet agents are still useful.

Last year we went to Thailand, via virgin.

We were able to book online sure, but we wanted a human to confirm everything and make sure every single thing was in line.

The agent at the store dealt with everything. And we also got further discounts that we wouldn't have got online.

This was a £11k holiday though... Probably helped heh

Location
Glasgow
Was 4 adults, two children and a baby.
Flights were £1350 each. Summer holiday prices cus 3 adults are teachers.

And you paid the travel agent markup. Definitely don’t need to pay that much for flights.
What did they actually provide you that you couldn’t have done yourself?
Doubt the agent had ever been to where you were going anyway.

People like to get away in the sun as a family, what’s hard to understand?

No sun is worth almost half the median wage, just go outside, wont be long until that's not even a choice either.

Yes, i get the UK or indeed much of Europe is drab and a bit samey and people like getting as far as possible from it, wasn't so long ago that this was an immense luxury.

Silly isn't it.

We place experiencing other cultures, food, history high up on our list of things to do.
We even travel the UK a lot to see new places.

Others prefer to spend that money on a more expensive car, house, electronics. All comes down to what you want to do with your money.
