Actual Police State

A similar thing will come to this country but will be brought in through private corporations, you can already see it with companies banding together to de-platform people (refuse services) because they've broken T&C's even though nothing they have done is illegal.

That is much harder to enforce than a state run system. You can lie to companies, use a fake name and no one except the company cares.

Yes it is. ECHR article 11.

You should read what the ECHR actually says or else look foolish.

Here's a clue explaining which bits are 'qualified' rights as opposed to absolute.

Qualified rights
These are rights which can be restricted not only in times of war or emergency but also in order to protect the rights of another or the wider public interest. In general, qualified rights are structured so that the first part of the Article sets out the right, while the second part establishes the grounds on which a public authority can legitimately interfere with that right in order to protect the wider public interest. This category of rights includes those guaranteed by Articles 8, 9, 10 and 11.

Yes it is. ECHR article 11.

Part 2 states that freedom of assemble and association can be curtailed for certain reasons:

"No restrictions shall be placed on the exercise of these rights other than such as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society in the interests of national security or public safety, for the prevention of disorder or crime, for the protection of health or morals or for the protection of the rights and freedoms of others. This article shall not prevent the imposition of lawful restrictions on the exercise of these rights by members of the armed forces, of the police or of the administration of the State"

I don't think this is what a police state is, seeing as the can just move say to parliament Square and mingle with the Brexit chaps.
It appears they've actually "banned" any sort of XR protest anywhere which means (a) they won't really be able to do that^ and (b) I'm really surprised about.

I'm not sure I agree with banning their protests everywhere as this probably will just lead them to be more extreme. The only thing Trafalgar Square is good for is tourists and pigeons, they can have it for all I'm concerned. It's quite a nice place for them to get kettled :p

As for the morons disrupting air travel, they should be locked up for 25yrs for terrorism offences. Very surprised the James Brown paralympic cyclist has gotten away with just a public nuisance offence for climbing on a flippin' plane!

Setting the example.

Equipped with hammer and smashing glass windows while pontificating, one of the organisations founders:

I'm sure there's nothing to worry about when the group leaders are encouraging vandalism.

I'm not really sure what's worse though. Human lifestyles causing planet wide distruction or her smashing a window with a hammer.

Although these protests will amount to nothing, and with technology not yet ready to get us out of this mess (let's be honest, even if it was ready, it would be too expensive, cause, humans need paying big money....so erm...yeah)

What's the point? I honestly can't see the point. Unless they enjoy causing chaos.

also, why do most protestors have brightly coloured hair with nose piercings?

Paid protesters?

Does smashing windows not mean they need replaced thus spending more carbon? Quite silly it is the same with blue hair dye and those percings. Are they really needed? Think about the impact of the smurf dye incoroprated hair companys carbon footprint!!!

I go as natural and as naked as possible when possible, All for the enviroment.

I do hope they sent her the bill for the replacement window.

No it isn't. Your grasp is basic law appears to be lacking. None of the rights enshrined by the echr are absolute.

Got a source for that? Everything I'm reading states it's a legal right unless in certain circumstances which don't appear to apply here.

I don't see how disrupting services for a very large number of people, airports, public transport etc. is a right.

Feel free to protest, but do it in a way that doesn't cause disruption thanks. They imply their problem is with those in power and yet the people they're (indirectly) protesting against are normal people just trying to get to work or do their job. All the people who need to be in certain places will use all the tunnels under London reserved for them.

Do they really think they're going to convince Steve the van driver "Oh they've just blocked off my way to work, my boss is going to be really ****** off at me and I now might lose a days pay. But actually they've got a point so I'm going to back these people".

No it will just cause resentment and hatred towards them.

It's the same stupid attitude people have in elections, "If you don't vote for <x> you're <insert insult here>." The way you win elections is by convincing people to vote for you, insulting the people who don't will not make them vote for you. Do you really think this will happen "Oh gee I wasn't going to vote for <x> but they've just called me a <insult> so now I'm going to vote for <x>".
