ASMR?

Im not a ********* by any stretch.......BUT.

One of my guilty pleasures is 30 mins of ASMR before bed just to talk me down and de-stress. I very rarely get any tingly sensation from it but i do find a lot of it relaxing, calming and sometimes funny.

Edit : just realised the word that sometimes people use to describe more sensitive people (single item of snow) has been censored? HAHAHAH.

Audio rarely does it for me, but touch does the trick every time.

Actually, I just realised that certain voices at normal volume do it more often than any ASMR stuff I've tried. E.g. the woman @4:34 who tries to bribe commander Shepard:

^ Her voice makes me a little tingly right now - however, the voice/accent itself is unpleasant.

It's clearly people getting off on the videos because it's a hot girl making the noises.

Show me a video with lots of likes of an ugly old granny doing it and I'll reconsider my view.

The one i watched wasn't attractive to me at all, the whispering asmr one i watched, it just worked, can't explain it and never watched one before today

I love this guys videos anyway, no matter what he's doing it's just fascinating.

Not really tried ASMR, but I really enjoy well done Binaural audio, and this one is kinda ASMR apparently.

However weird and pervy internet ASMR might be, I feel sorry for anyone who hasn't experienced the genuine sensations which have become known as ASMR. It really is better and more satisfying than sex.

Or maybe I'm doing sex wrong. Quite possible. :)

Few videos give me much of a tingle in my old age, but I used to wallow in waves of deep, tingly relaxation back when I had hair to cut, or when the gardeners were using a leaf blower right outside my flat window. Bob Ross type painting videos on TV used to do it for me back before the internet even existed. I think for me an important factor is that I'm not in control, and with YouTube the fact I can watch again, pause, and know what's happening next, kills the triggering very quickly.

I could even get triggered if customers hovered near me, potentially about to ask me for help, when I was at work. And I was once the class hero for managing to persuade our Latin teacher to spend a whole double period going into detail about some military campaign or other... His droning voice could trigger me, but only if I wasn't scratching my head trying to understand the lesson.

There's no doubt something chemical is getting triggered in some of us in often unusual, but generally relaxing circumstances. I think I've wondered in similar threads before If what we're experiencing is something similar to the chemical highs from something like heroin. Only someone with plenty of drugs experience would know and I've never even had cannabis so I couldn't tell you. But that sort of extremely blissed out state portrayed in movies etc seems to be on the same spectrum as my ASMR used to be.

I just wish ASMR vids did work for me more often than once in a blue moon, otherwise I might be asleep now rather than poking my finger into the internet at this ungodly hour!

Anyway, at least when the spammer resurrected this thread they gave us relaxation weirdos chance to preach a bit. However I would like to completely disassociate myself from those getting their relaxation rocks off to clacky mouth sounds and slime manipulation while staring down a pretty girl's cleavage. That's an entirely different kind of weird if you ask me! :)

I suffered from stress and anxiety mainly due to not being able to switch off before sleep and laying awake thinking about work. Finding ASMR solved a lot as I put my headphones on in bed and it keeps my mind occupied untill I start to drift of to sleep and the tablet & headphones get dump on the floor and I am out like a light.
Only rarely get tingles and I prefer videos that are telling me something thats interesting to me.

a lot of the ASMR videos are of attractive women making orgasm sounds.....they're great

look at the 3 channels I posted and you can see that is not true. there are a few that play on their looks for views but true ASMR should be lowering your heart rate not increasing it. Example of the stuff giving ASMR the bad reputation is

If you look at the sort of websites TheOracle frequents, you'll see it is not only true, but often women making those sounds for genuine reasons rather than just noise generation.
There are reasons why some people persist with the assertion that ASMR is sexual arousal, while others distinguish between AMR and ASMeRotica... But in truth, there's no reason why it can't be both. It's all individually subjective anyway, right?

I agree, Find a way to relive stress that suits you dont worry about others judging you for it.

It can be worse than that. Little girl dressed as a police woman also rates highly on youtube. (for obvious reasons I won't link)
Agree how its attractive woman who dominate the channels. Funny that.
