1660 ti makes no sense anymore. Go for the Super.
£278 is too close to the RX 5700 price point, which happens to be way faster.
5500 is closer to a 590 and far from a 1660 Super. But yeah, it's not gonna be out any time soon, it's mostly for OEMs.
Would be great to see a Red Dragon or Pulse model drops to £299, I'd jump at the chance!
With no sign of a RX5500, the 1660 Super looks to be my only option for now!
If you plan on playing RDR2 then 5700 or a Vega.
Unless you plan on mining bitcoins all day don't read to much in to power consumption. The difference in cost is tiny.
1660 Super for as close to £200 as possible or 5700 for around £300. Both offer near similar price to performance (value) thus you can't really go wrong with either. If you need / want more performance get the 5700. Simples..
Just purchased the Palit "ITX" 1660 Super for my wife's build. I am nabbing her 5700 and the new card will work perfectly in the more confined space of the Silverstone Raven case.
Thanks for the advice chaps, going to wait till black Friday and see what that day brings if anything. Otherwise it'll be a Super.
1660 Super for as close to £200 as possible or 5700 for around £300.
Wait for the Black Friday £249 RX5700.![]()
@ANDREW GREEN - I've been watching these videos all week and whilst informative it all comes down to the pennies. If budget allows it'll be a 5700 all the way.
It's not a bad plan, it means it'll be longer until you need to upgrade.
BTW I managed to pick up a Vega 56 for £180 below - they aren't in stock right now but if you check back regularly you might pick one up too. Mine was clearly an instant return, it still had 3 of it's HDMI covers on and all the packaging.
