New monitor to compliment new PC - £250.00 budget!

I've just recently got myself the below PC and now I'm looking for a decent monitor to compliment it, however I'm lost on what I should be going for.

I've been ideally looking for a 27" 1440p, however I've been recommended the following:

While it fits perfectly into my budget and has come highly recommended, I'm just concerned about how close I'll be sitting to it and whether there is a better alternative.. I'm using a 24" 1080p at the moment, so going to 32" would be quite a big jump up.

I'd appreciate any assistance or suggestions.

I'm thinking about getting one myself and have a question. If my GPU can only handle 70FPS in a particular game and I bought a 120hz or 144hz screen, would the refresh rate of the screen drop to match the FPS of the GPU? So a 120Hz screen will drop to 70hz to match the FPS?

Yes, assuming it's a freesync or gsync screen, the refresh rate will match the frames. There is a lower cut off though but I can't recall what it is.

The only I can see on OCUK is priced at £379.99.

Is it worth going for the same spec but with 75hz for £247.95? Not sure I can really afford the cost at £379.99 :(
 
I wouldn't be overly worried about 75HZ, the monitor you originally listed looks solid for £220, I'd be tempted myself if I was in the market for a new monitor.

Could be worth waiting for Black Friday though.

Have you looked at the clearance lineup?

I have actually been keeping an eye on clearance stuff.

These are the only two that have really caught my eye so far. I'm not 100% keen on 32" as I sit relatively close to my monitors, however I assume the curve might help that a little?

Edit: Both are VA panels. I'm used to pretty average monitors in the past, so I don't really know if I'd notice the difference moving from an average IPS to a decent VA?
 
It's always worth making a post in the Customer Support section of the forum and asking about the condition of any B grade item you're interested in, also ask if that's the best price available as they may well lower it, they did after I asked about some equipment awhile back.

Some of the information is a little off but it should give you a better understanding of the differences in panel types. I personally prefer IPS, I wouldn't touch TN with a ten foot pole, VA I'm not overly keen on but everyone has preferences and you may well be very happy with a VA monitor.
