Got a £250 budget and considered the 1660 Super but is the Ti variant worth the extra coin considering the 2060 RTX can be had here for £278?

£278 is too close to the RX 5700 price point, which happens to be way faster.

Would be great to see a Red Dragon or Pulse model drops to £299, I'd jump at the chance!

With no sign of a RX5500, the 1660 Super looks to be my only option for now!

5500 is closer to a 590 and far from a 1660 Super. But yeah, it's not gonna be out any time soon, it's mostly for OEMs.

Thanks for the advice chaps, going to wait till black Friday and see what that day brings if anything. Otherwise it'll be a Super.

Don't be scared of the reference design. You can easily control the voltage and temp. They are not that loud. I know cos it replaced a reference R9 290. At less than a volt, it only consumes about 160w.

If you plan on playing RDR2 then 5700 or a Vega.

Unless you plan on mining bitcoins all day don't read to much in to power consumption. The difference in cost is tiny.

Not mining or worried about energy costs, just looking for the best value for money. Waiting on deals but open to options and not long now till black Friday.

1660 Super for as close to £200 as possible or 5700 for around £300. Both offer near similar price to performance (value) thus you can't really go wrong with either. If you need / want more performance get the 5700. Simples.. :)

Just purchased the Palit "ITX" 1660 Super for my wife's build. I am nabbing her 5700 and the new card will work perfectly in the more confined space of the Silverstone Raven case.

Keeping my eye out daily for deals, not holding my breath. I'd stretch to £300 if the deal was right, failing that then got options to fall back too.

This video should help - especially if you can look at the games you actually play

Other options would be the 5700 - £80 over budget but significantly faster and can be flashed to a 5700 XT for 10% performance boost. The 590 is £170 and has been as low as £156, which is about 10% slower than the 1660 Super.

@ANDREW GREEN - I've been watching these videos all week and whilst informative it all comes down to the pennies. If budget allows it'll be a 5700 all the way.

It's not a bad plan, it means it'll be longer until you need to upgrade.

BTW I managed to pick up a Vega 56 for £180 below - they aren't in stock right now but if you check back regularly you might pick one up too. Mine was clearly an instant return, it still had 3 of it's HDMI covers on and all the packaging.

I'll more than likely get a 5700... my budget will be more flexible the week of black Friday. I'll be buying new around this time.
