Anyway panic over, I rang the shop 20 minutes ago (it's open until 10pm) and the guy said my parcel was there.
I ran down and they apologised that the lad on during the day didn't track it in so it had been there since around 11am.

Was annoyed with them yesterday; had a named day delivery yesterday. Package was out for delivery at 08:30 from the local delivery location. Still failed to deliver by the end of the day ... and now its oh, it might turn up in the next couple of days ... if it doesn't turn up by Wednesday then let us know.

not a primate ... but maybe taking that kings shilling at black friday for a month is a good idea, it's usually cheaper.

Anyway - 4 days ago, I bought 3 items from amazon two > £20 in stock, 3rd < £5 but, not in stock for a month,
although 1st was delivered alone, will they make me wait for the combined delivery of the 2nd/3rd ?

Doesnt matter how close the warehouse is, items going out to shops or customers are shipped from delivery stations, the warehouses ship to delivery stations, then the delivery stations do the drops.

It is possible the delivery station can be miles from the warehouse

Not necessarily true, my mate does Amazon deliveries and he takes his van to the Amazon Warehouse on Trentham Lakes where the items are put on his van for deliveries.

That will be a delivery station not a full warehouse

Has anyone else noticed Amazon's latest ~~scam~~ cunning wheeze, the so called "Add-on item"? Items too small to be worth letting you buy apparently unless you make a large order. I tried ordering a USB cable, less than a fiver, happy to pay the postage if less than £20 minimum for free delivery.

Nope, won't let me. "Add-on" means I have to spend a minimum of £20 before they'll let me purchase the item at all. It'll just get removed from your basket at checkout otherwise.

I just purchased the bloody thing on eBay instead (none to be found on ocuk). I find myself visiting the rainforest less and less these days.

Bought a couple of 8TB WD Purples off them (not stocked on OCUK) and they arrived loose in a cardboard box with a bit of brown paper packaging. Surprised they even worked.

Used ? hard disks have set packaging and you cannot RMA without the proper plastic container for it afaik. I always keep the packaging bit for this reason till the warranty is done

The past few months the Amazon deliveries are too late to warrant having Prime. They keep trying to deliver at work after it’s closed. This has never happened before, they’re usually delivered around lunchtime. I assume something has changed with their delivery schedule. So I’ll cancel as I’m not actually able to get things delivered.
