Hi All,

I've been out the "game" for quite a long time. I'm getting into cities skyline and I need a new PC to run it.

Anyone have any advice or a build for a system that can run CS?

Cheers.

Recommended specs..
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-3470T 2.8GHz / AMD FX-6300
  • Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7870 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660
  • VRAM: 2GB
  • System Memory: 6 GB RAM
  • Storage: 4 GB Hard drive space

I can tell you for certain, as a C:S player with 300mods and a city population of 900k that the recommended spec won't go far

well it depends on what you want to do with C:S of course
as it is insanely moddable, it can require a lot of ram
same with the population, if you're only looking to play to a population of 100-200k then clearly you wouldn't need too much cpu horsepower
if you intend to use max LOD, light tables etc, then GPU is more of a concern

I currently play on PS4 and hit around 100k with no mods before it starts becoming a little laggy. So mods and a higher pop would be great.

I reckon that 800 would be the average I would spend. I know that maybe a tall order but i can upgrade later as funds dictate.

£800 is easily doable - don't even need to spend that much ;)
tbh, i was expecting you to say something like £300 to run at 4k res with 1m pop and 10 bajilion mods lol

this would run games easily at 1080p without breaking into a sweat

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £649.51 (includes shipping: £11.70)
