For someone who likes to brag about how well the stock market is doing, which is all down to him and a direct link to the health of the US economy, he sure ****** the market and the US economy with his speech banning EU travel!

It wasnt just the fact he banned Eu travel, the markets reacted so negatively because they realised that with him saying things like "all trade goods are banned" and it turns out they aren't, they have finally factored in that they have a senile idiot in charge of potentially the biggest disease outbreak in the US and he has no clue what he is doing and now they are really scared.

It would have been better for the markets and confidence if he just shut up commentating on stuff esp addressing the nation.

The trouble with that is, you have to then take responsibility for the loses.

Most presidents are smart enough not to fellate themselves over how much of an impact they have had on the stock market...

What else do you want him to do, ignore it? Anything he did was going to 'panic' the markets, it's how they earn a lot of their money, so it happens as he had to do something.

It's what out Boris should have done over a week ago, but he was too weak to do it. Now lots more people will get the illness and die because of his inaction.

This is what Presidents are there for. Emergencies that are unforeseen and need immediate action that Congress is just too slow to take action on. It is irrelevant where the crisis originates, the executive branch is there to deal with it, or should be. This idea floating around that this is China's fault is ridiculous. Nature finds a way for viruses to jump species, this is a human race problem. Small Pox was one of the few that was human only which is why we were able to eradicate it.

He should have immediately began manufacturing testing kits or purchasing the WHO version when this appeared in Jan and making plans to deal with a pandemic. He didn't. His whole response to this has been to try and minimise the damage to himself and his re-election and by doing that it will hurt him badly. He is now blaming Obama and Biden which is a joke. His Oval Office speech was a car crash. Biden gave a speech yesterday which was 100x more presidential than Trumps.
