Resident Evil 3 (r3make)

Just picked this up on PC on members market so will be cancelling my PS4 pre-order.

Hopefully AMD release the codes a bit earlier this time. Last time they took their time with RE2 Remake.

Same as RE2- hdr doesn’t have proper black levels and so Its always a bit grey looking. Loses immersion for me as a result. Highlights are brilliant but shame they didn’t get it right. Compare it to TLOU remastered to see how it should be.

Ahhh just played demo....

Stars-grrrrrrrrhhaaaaa!!!! Gees didn't take him long to show up. I love how mechanics like this add to the tension but sometimes I just like to explore the world lol

Love the environmental hazards you can use that's a great touch.

Nemesis won't trigger until you pick up the fire hose.

Indeed. On my second play through of the demo I left that until the end so I could freely explore. There is ample ammo. Can pretty much kill most zombies with your shotgun :)

funny DF say the HDR is top quality.

If you get yourself killed a few times you get an option to switch to assisted mode with Assault rifle :P

The dodge system seems to be very important this time round. Can't really remember if it was in the RE2 remake.

It was not.

I don't know if anyone else has seen it but there has been a post put on the RE website on facebook stating they may have issues with distributing the physical copies because of the current situation. I cant link to my FB page as I am at work but maybe some kind bod could find it and post it?

Glad I canceled my PS4 copy and went for a steam copy on PC.

Mind you I still have my FF7 pre-order, but I ain't canceling that. If I have to wait, I have to wait. Not paying £50-60 for a digital version I cannot re-sell.

Have to disagree with this. Black levels aren’t right as they always look washed out. Bright highlights are superb but blacks aren’t true black and game never goes properly dark where it should. RE2 has the same problem and the demo of RE3 seemed the same.

Ruined. Throw the game in the bin tbh.

I remember RE2 zombies being quite deformable.
I think !?!?

Iirc, RE 2 on PS allowed you to blow them in half with the shotgun on occasion - you'd have to fire as they lunge and sometimes they would end up crawling toward to. Don't recall if you could take individual legs off, one would assume you could considering the addition of blowing them in half. Sadly this RE3 remake only seemed to offer head popping.

Decent demo though, but I might hold off getting it - I think I left the RE series after 2, and only briefly returned with Code Veronica on the Dreamcast; so no real idea of the characters and story of this one (unlike RE2 remake which I jumped on).

Well I think I am going to cancel my pre-order… As I said previously, I would have hoped they have added a load of content to make it worth £40+ as the original game was very short and.... Nope! Apparently the campaign is 6 hours long. Sorry, but I am not paying that money for something that will keep me busy for no longer than watching a couple of decent movies, no matter how good it is. I will wait till its down to half that. When games like Far Cry, GTA, RDR2 etc can offer 40+ hours of campaign with some side missions 6 hours is just not enough today. Games like COD can get away with it as they often have a great campaign, albeit short, but with a big focus on multiplayer.

:(

I'm not a Resi fan but I remember my friends who are fans said the original Resident Evil 3 was short anyway  One of the shortest in the series.

Yeah. I was expecting them to expand on content, not reduce it. What were they thinking?

My guess is Resident Evil 8 or whatever they will call it that their main team is working on will be coming out in 2021 so they wanted to rush this one out this year. I would rather they have kept slowly working on it and realease it in 2022 and give it the remake it deserved.

All that said I canceled my pre-order on PS4 a while ago and went for it on PC and should end up costing me around £15-£20 depending on how much I sell the Monster Hunter game from the AMD Bundle. So for me well worth paying that. I know I will get my moneys worth for sure.

It is. I am playing it now. Will see how long it takes me. Started playing last night, will likely be done by tomorrow, maybe even tonight :p

I will wait I think and grab it later. Just replaying the campaign on Far Cry 5 after replaying 3 and 4 and I have just repurchased RDR2 so will replay the campaign on that.

Huge RE fan but I think I'll either rent this or wait for a sale on PC. RE3 was never my favourite in the series and £50 for 5 hours is a bit harsh. I thought they'd have done more with it. Doesn't sound like all that faithful of a remake.
