Lets help the Government out!

We're hopefully a bunch of very intellectual people on here(hopefully), so let us see what suggestions we get!

People always find ways to complain about those in control, particularly one party against another, but why don't we try and help them out for a change

The Government are borrowing millions during this current epidemic, and will need to pay this off going forward for years to come restricting future funding to improving education, health and other important areas to the UK.

So how do we help them fix this situation?

Ok serious answer.

You pay the extra tax increases they will have to levy for the rest of your life.
Stop buying foreign made goods.
Support British produce.
Accept the same levels of funding for police, etc and schooling that you have now for the next 25 years too.

The government don't have any money, its being created on our behalf, the tax payers, and we will need to pay it back.

Stay at home.
Ensure everyone you knows stays at home.

Single biggest cost saving.

The government doesn't pay anything back, we the people and companies of this nation do via taxation.

The government has no money of its own, only what it receives in taxes.

Those who can afford it, don't take benefits
Those who can afford it, don't furlough your staff
Those who can afford it, still pay your bills
Those who can afford it, still pay your taxes

Thats about it.
But if I stay at home they will lose the tax money I pay them out of my wages (Plus the TAX money from many things I would have bought with my wages)
Plus they would then have to give me money to live if I no go to work..

So I can't see how me staying at home and not going to work would help them

I wish I could stay home then I wouldn't have to go to work tomorrow :(:(:(

Work for free, give all your earnings to the government. Get yourself into even more debt.

How can the government borrow. Where have they borrowed from? No country has any money left.

We'll borrow it from China, China can borrow it from Australia, Australia can borrow it from South Korea, South Korea can borrow it from Japan, Japan can borrow it from America and the Americans can borrow it from us. Simples

That's even better then, it can all be written off, hurrah

We could learn a trick from dodgy car dealers, create company called "Dave's Car Yard". Sell dodgy cars, if customers successfully claim against in you court just close the business and open a new one called "Dave's Car Emporium".

So load the UK with debt, then close up shop and open a new country. I vote for "The Conjoined Kingdom". Just make sure to switch all the paperwork or they'll send the sheriffs in.

With the exception of renaming this is how banking works :p

Explain why?
A virus appears in the wild, do you think the country in which it occurred should be billed?
Should we bill the Africans every time Ebola pops its head up?

We knew about this virus from early January, everyone knew, it was on the BBC every damn night, over and over.
There was no lack of time to prepare, there was simple lack of preparation, mixed with no stoppage of flights etc.

One thing I do see worldwide of the back of this, is the complete elimination of flights from a nation when a novel virus appears.
Basically stop in and out from that nation to slow the spread, this wasn't done for a major length of time, that was out choice, not Chinas.
We took weeks to stop flights from Italy, that was our main source of infection, not China.
That again was 100% our call.

One thing I no understand is where the bank getting enough money from to lend to the Government to keep the whole of England going through this
Surely the Government going to need to borrow billions of pounds to get through this

Shutting the economy down has effectively replaced a short sharp pain with long term arthritis, lots of pensioners will die over the coming years because they cant afford to switch the heating on due to further inevitable austerity.

It's my opinion and I stand by it.

And while all this is going on "MPs summon China-owned firm execs over security concerns"

So much misinformation in this thread, it's kinda funny.

We aren't paying anymore taxes unless of course it's to support better service provision, though I wouldn't mind fooling the country into doing it off the back of thinking this money has to be 'repaid'... whatever works I guess. Afterall, the UK does seem to like being fooled. ;)

What is the alternative? the economy would have shutdown pretty quick once the short sharp pain started kicking in (which wouldn't be all that short and leave devastation in its wake).

Unless someone has an actual plan and replaces this government with one that shows actual leadership and doesn't just act reactively the result is inevitable whichever way you approach it.

We could "encourage" the government to relocate from its current residence based on the fact they aren't using all the rooms in the building.

We could hold a referendum on whether MPs should get a wage rise in line with inflation, and we could all cheer on camera when the vote is a resounding "No!". Afterwards, we can tell anyone who will listen every day how much we value our amazing government.

We could replace MPs expenses with a Universal Expenses system that provides much less, provided they can manage to fathom out how to claim.

Above all, we can tell them that we're all in this together as we continue to take our 80% to lie on the couch... That'll make then smile a warm little smile. :)

Project mind control has successfully brainwashed citizens to comply for the next 20 years and accept the swill they will be fed by the new world order.

For the greater good, we are all in this together.
Wake up sheeple. Capitalism is an illusion.
Your blitz spirit will see you through.
Mindless drones, spoon fed your drugs by those in charge.

So you're why I can't find any tin-foil in the supermarket...
