Hi guys

After some advise
Noticing my cpu is starting to get very hot when playing games, only fortnight so nothing major temps would reach 75c
If I run stress test would reach 85/90c in minutes.
I have changed the thermal paste , set fans to 100% and issue remains.
I have a Corsair 110GTX 4 fans on push pull

anyone got any advice ?

Is the pump working properly?

I have a 2700k a 4.6ghz under a D14, and I haven't repasted in 5 years, and I top out at 70 doing intensive stuff.

Possible to test with the stock heatsink (if you still have it)?

Not sure about pump
Corsair software shows pump speed 3000RPM
And the 1 fan not fixed to rad but plugged in to the fan header on the pump reads 1200RPM
The 4 fans on the rad are wired to fan splitter and cpu header but powered from Sata

that said temps are stable while idle/gaming
Would have thought if pump was dead the temps would rise

usually with aio
its pump failure--but you got 3000rpm
or incorrect mounting which includes too little/too much thermal paste
but is mainly when people tighten 1 screw/bolt too much before moving onto the next
they should be tightened gradually a bit at a time in an X pattern
this keeps the block flat
overtightening the first one means the other corners get lifted into the air

I usually look at rear of motherboard to
Check all the threads of the mounting
Screws came through an equal amount
If they did it should mean the block
Is flat
The 2700k is getting on a bit though so a
Possibility perhaps the cpu is degrading
What temps did you get previously?
And obviously double checking with another cooler when it arrives will give a
Better idea of what is going on

On first build many many years ago was idle at 20c
Today turned it on and it was idle at 30c
Yet few hours later idle was 50c
New cooler will be here Monday so will slap that on after work and see.

long time since i had a 2600k
and always ran it at 5ghz :):):):)
but from memory anywhere approx 30c at idle is
what i would expect-depending on ambient temps
obviously 50c if its idle then yeah theres an issue somewhere
guess come monday we will find out

Yep looking more and more like iffy pump
Started this morning and 30c idle, games 40c and stress 75
20 mins later turned it back on and in bios was 47 and climbed to 65 until I loaded windows started at 60 then dropped to 40
Wondering if pump has gunk and sometimes able to spin free other times catching

Not beyond possibility there's very little clearance at all around pump impellers
It's possible to dismantle an AIO
But refilling them is a pita

My thoughts as well
This one was a “it will do for now and confirm if pump faulty”
So plan on getting another one soon.
When I get around to it will strip the old one and see.

yeah if you put your finger on the old one and can feel pump vibration
then its worth stripping even just for curiosity's sake
might be as simple as tiny bit of debris impeding the impeller
other common fault on them is a dodgy pump power wire
you wiggle the wire all of a sudden the pump starts/stops
