Lidl also have some amazing chocolate hobnobs in their "Bio" range. I ate about 9 in a row the other day. :o

Yup, the last time Cadburys tasted great was around 20 years ago. I remember it fondly. :(

I'm not a huge fan of fruit and nut but I may try this out of curiousity.
 
Lidl used to have their own brand Ferrero Rocher that I actually preferred to the real thing, and it was a fraction of the price!

Aldi's 'Choceur' brand chocolate is gorgeous too, I love the milk chocolate with almonds one. Much better than Cadbury's and the like imo.
 
Disco Biscuits from Aldi (renamed to Groovy Biscuits for some reason :p) are great, not really a rip off from anything else though!
 
Asda own brand twix are far better than the original. Better biscuit, better and more caramel and better chocolate too. Smaller bars but five dual sticks for 65p? Bargain!
 
A lot of the stuff all comes from the same factory, just different branding and price.

I think Cadbury went down hill when that US corporation bought it up. Some of it is starting to taste like American chocolate which is OFC nasty.

Their dairy milk in particular has gone way downhill, shame as they used to make some lovely stuff back in the 90's.

Which branded and "fake" chocolate bars come from the same factory?
 
I love the ALDI version of Mars and Snickers. I'm sure most people couldn't taste the difference in a blind test.

What is fake is Cadburys ever since it was bought out by the yanks.

Lidl's ones are even nicer. Yummy creamy caramel, nom nom.

Some of Lidl's shortbread, biscuits and oatcakes are made by Walkers Shortbread on the same line as M&S ones. My wife, who works for Walkers, has this annoying habit of checking the batch codes to see when they were made and on which line!!

Slightly off topic, but speaking of M&S I was told that the frozen fish in the clear bags you can get in Heron's is M&S stuff that's a bit too battered or excess to requirements. I tried some haddock fishcakes from there awhile back to see if they were any good and they were actually really nice, much cheaper than you'd pay for them in M&S too.
 
The problem with a lot of lidl and aldi cereal and food in general is a lack of nutrition. Virtually none of the cereals are fortified with vits unlike kellogs for example.

Plus if you check the ingredients you'll find quite liberal doses of palm oil in many chocolate bars/cereals so yeahh...
 
I don't eat a lot of choc but this has got me thinking I might get a bar next week when in there shopping.
They also make brownies to die for - I buy 7 - one to cut in half between us and other 6 wrap in cling film and put them in freezer - One a day for mid morning tea and snack.
i have had some of their boxes but find after a while they taste sickly.
Also I am trying hard not to get kidney problems or diabetes.
