Well yeah, he's qualified 1st here 3 times now and won it twice as well as lead the most laps. So i'd say he is pretty strong at this track? I mean i'm not his biggest fan but he's obviously doing something right here.
True, but, not, at least not that race, as above he was totally gifted by everything going on, you cannot argue that he was quicker than Lewis, he just wasn't.

This stuff always makes be laugh as when it is the other way around the saying changes to "oh Lewis was just managing he pace, and controlling the race"

After the safety cars Bottas put in two or three fastest laps. Before they were told things would be turned down. After the pit stops I think it was, Lewis didn't catch or pass him. This time around it might be different, but I don't think you can take anything away from Bottas last race.
No that's incorrect, Lewis caught him pretty quickly, the gearbox issues and warnings didn't happen until after he was caught.

I appreciate that Bottas goes well here, but Lewis was really a lot faster in race pace and really was nailed by outside factors. Taking into account how quickly Lewis caught him after being in dirty air, more tyre wear, overtakes, and Bottas had total clear air and still got caught, come on really?

Lewis took over a second off Bottas before the safety car came to Bottas's rescue. You don't close the gap from 4 places back to nothing unless you're faster, and judging by how much faster he was at the end of the first stint, Lewis was doing a much better job of keeping the tyres healthy while he was doing it.

I don't take anything from Bottas here, he was faster when it mattered on Saturday and did exactly what he needed to on Sunday. He beat Hamilton fair and square last weekend. If he can beat Hamilton in Quali again tomorrow I think he has a good chance in the race. Double Austria to start is about the worst opening Hamilton could get in terms of getting a jump on his teammate, it's probably Bottas' best track and one of Lewis' worst.

Hamilton just needs a good quali session. He is by far the fastest in the race. Rain in quali could help him.

Its why it's a bit pathetic how am the commentators big up Bottas chances.
I know they need to hype it up, but still annoying

He has to be lucky to win. Basically needs a pole.
Hamilton doesn't need a pole to win.

Wish Renault would put Alonso in fp1!
I want to get a feel of next year is gonna be good or a disaster

Crofty just announced in commentary that both Monza and Mugello have been confirmed as races for this season. Really looking forward to Mugello. Just need to add Portimao next and it'll be perfect.

*Edit*

Ugh, and then Sochi. That's a shame. I'd hoped that dreadful hovel would be skipped.

I’d rather another race at the Red Bull Ring than Sochi; or Imola..... going to be still be quite a gap to fill with the rumours that the North American races could all be off, hope for Hockenheim and Imola!

With the state of CV over there I doubt F1 will be going to North America this year. Canada in October could be interesting though - almost guaranteed rain :)

Noticed in the graphics that they've started transcribing the radio messages which is far better; half the time I can't understand what's being said.

They need races in three continents to call it a World Championship, according to FIA rules. Europe is already dealt with, I guess Asia will be covered with one or more Middle Eastern races, but they with Australia already ruled out they need either a North American or South American race don't they?

I suspect there’ll be at least one race in the Middle East just due to the money involved. I’m quite happy for most of the season to be in Europe though, it’s proper old school. Call it the European championship or go down the US route of sporting events and just hold it in one country and still call it the world championship.

I do still find it funny that their going to Sochi given the current F1 initiatives.

It'd be quite funny if Lewis was stopped from being a seven times World Champion because the 7th one was only a Eurasian Champion.

When did that change? I'm sure it never used to be a thing - hell, the very first World Championship in 1950 was six Formula One GPs in Europe plus the Indy 500 running to AAA rules.

I'd never heard it either, but I guess that's because it's never been an issue, so I looked it up and it's true:

Article 2.4.3.b.i states that in order to qualify as a world championship, the calendar "must include Competitions taking place on at least three continents during the same season."

2.4.3 Use of the word "World"

2.4.3.b.i The cup, trophy, challenge or series calendar must include Competitions taking place on at least three continents during the same season.

I don't know, but it's in the FIA rules (Article 2.4.3.b.i) but the FIA didn't exist back in 1950.
