Calling all VA panel monitor owners... how are they really for gaming?

IMO VA are the worst monitor types for gaming. I own TN, VA, IPS and OLED, and rank them as follows:

OLED
IPS
TN
VA

No matter how fast the refresh rate, VA is just a blurry mess.

For image quality, a good VA panel is better than IPS and TN. Competitive gamers will fair better with an IPS or TN although fast VA are getting better.

What do you mean by a good VA panel is better than IPS for image quality? Only for gaming due to the deeper blacks?

For cinematic video games or games with nice visuals you lose a lot of shadow detail, depth and vibrancy with IPS, 1 the contrast is atrocious. 2 The horrible glow thrown in with the grey blacks can make a lot of night scenes, scenes with dark edges, or dark environmens look washed out.

OK so indeed you meant just for gaming and not general IQ.

no, they will make it 500R instead of the 1000R. The third gen of this text will basically be a monitor so "curved" that it will be attachable to your head, all 32 inches of it.. the monitor not your head

Hah yeah, I think we all would love a flat panel, especially those of us who run dual monitor setups! I am so waiting for JOLED to start producing 32" OLED's...

500r.......it will be a great face covering product

I know most people prefer curvy shape

but after using a 32 inch curved monitor for while I would definitely stick with flat panel.

16:9 alone is not worth having curved for, let alone at 32", which makes the 27" curved just a really strange option.

I didn't mind the curve of the Dell S3220DGF but that is like 1800 or something and not a silly 1000R. However, I agree with you on the 27". It seems very silly and strange. Overall I prefer flat panels with the exception being 32:10/32:9 whatever they call it these days.
