My connection is now 22/5 it was 37/5 a few years ago but has degraded over time, they told me there is no fault on the line and tried to get me to turn off the 2.4ghz wifi band to fix it!

Sky have been useless i have a guaranteed speed of 30/4 so I am going to leave but when i check availability elsewhere my predictions are low, I suspect there is a fault on my line as my noise margin has crept up from 6 to 11.9.

What are my options? I am considering switching to a three packaged as I can get 115mb/35mb on my phone and can sign up for 24m @ £17pm. Is that sensible or would I regret it?

I assume this is a connection via your telephone line. Try plugging directly into the socket that comes into the house with no other extensions plugged in. That will eliminate issues with your internal wiring.

yes, after 2 now shows the engineer came today and said no fault inside of the property, the nowtv rep has said line looks ok and then tried to talk me through switching off my 2.4ghz wifi band to fix the issue! I humoured him for a while before pointing out the issue is with the sync rate not my wifi, absolutely clueless.

Sky are supposed to reimburse you if you don't hit your garanteed rates. Not sure if it's the same for nowtv.

What are your line stats and is this with the modem plugged directly in to the master socket? Is the master socket a '5c' or is it older?

If you do anything that's ping sensitive, online gaming for e ample, you are likely to regret it.

New face plate fitted to master socket today. Plugged in directly

ok so, this is mine:

Connection Speed (Kbps) 34771 (down) 6069 (up)
Line Attenuation (dB) DS1:20.6 DS2:52.9 DS3:80.0 US0:4.7 US1:43.5 US2:62.5
Noise Margin (dB) DS1:4.0 DS2:3.9 DS3:0.0

Your line attenuation is better than mine (lower) and your noise margin is higher which as i recall means your got more headroom. As your master socket was replaced today, i would expect your speed to increase over the next few days. I couldnt tell you what it would settle to, but probably somewhere over 40/7 i guess. Keep an eye on it, DLM can take a while to adjust your line. For what it's worth, replacing my master socket saw my connection speed increase by about 10mb over the course of 3 or 4 days.

the phone is still noisy, even after the engineer visit snr is 11.8 and they don't seem interested in fixing it
You never mentioned the noisy phone line :o

It's a line fault and DLS is most probably adjust your speed down to compensate. Get back on to them. Changing provider will not sort that issue.

Speaking to the customer service people was b pointless they wanted my to turn off the 2.4,GHz to speed up my fibrin, lol

1, my cameras use that band
2. It won't change my sync rate

It doesn't sound like it.

What did the engineer actually come out to do?

If it was raised as an internet fault, you will need to reraise it as a voice line fault. (Although it is worth trying a quiet line test with a different ideally corded phone)

I reported slow fibre and noisy phone he came fitted a new face plate and told me nothing wrong with line, but he wasn't here to look at fibre? Told me he was the cheap option, rang them up and they confirmed to me I have been syncing slower since end of July well under my guaranteed speed and proceeded to tell me that i need to switch off my 2.4ghz WiFi to speed up my connection!
It's almost as good as the rep who told me I had a blockage in the line which should clear itself when I rang last week.

I do t care anymore 30 days and I am off to a new ISP where the customer service peeps aren't retarded.
